The Zodiac Breakaway collar is the ONLY one I will use on my cat.Been using these for decades.
I don't like the drops and the non-breakaway type is not something I would put on an outdoor cat.
Even if they only go out sometimes, they can get caught on a branch or whatever and I would rather give them a fighting chance by having a collar that breaks away.

This product worked in about 2 weeks for our two new kitties! It's been about 3 months now that they've been wearing them & still seem to be flea-free. I just ordered 2 more replacements for future protection.

I take my cat out everyday for a walk. Zodiac breakaway collar is the only protection between my cat and ticks & fleas. These mean little bugs never bug my cat when he has the collar on. There were two occasions that I didn't have my cat worn the collar, and bang, a week later, I would find fleas on my poor kitty. So, the tick collar really works! I also highly recommend the breakaway feature. There was one time that I put a non-breakaway tick collar on one of the stray cats, and the 2 days later I found that poor kitty putting one foot cross the collar in an attempt to get the colar off her. Needless to say, I immediately threw away that collar. In short, you can definitely see immediate effect with Zodiac tick collar and it lasts about 5 months, for real.

Bought a Zodiac the first time, mostly for ticks because my dog is frequently in wooded areas and I use a flea control product that does not include tick control. From all indication the collar is working well. But the smell of the collar is very strong and it irritates my nose. Sort of like getting too much of a citronella smell can irritate your nose. At night, I take off the collar and put it in a plastic bag because the smell would wake me up (and the dog sleeps on the other side of the room). It has now been over a week and the smell is subsiding somewhat. I haven't had that experience with other collars.
