Fixes thrush with just one application; Messy and leaves stains, though Dec 15, 2009

I'm on a hoof-care kick because I have been having a lot of issues with my horses hooves and when his hooves are unhappy, he is unhappy.
Thrush is a bacterial infection (kind of like Athlete's foot) caused by moisture trapped in the nooks and crannies of your horses hooves. Usually it can be avoided by picking the hooves at once a day (I recommend Hoof Pick With Brush Assorted Colors) and keeping your horse's stall clean of waste material. However, especially in the summer when it gets warm, conditions are ripe for Thrush.
You'll notice thrush pretty quickly because there is an unmistakable smell. So if you catch the whiff, Thrush Buster is excellent for killing Thrush within one day. You just squirt a small amount in the hoof -- if you spray too much, it just runs out on the floor and can make a deep purple mess. If it gets on your clothes, it will stain, too -- it probably isn't a bad idea to use rubber gloves.
But the inconvenience aside, this stuff WORKS!! One day later, you will notice the smell is pretty much gone. It will also keep the thrush at bay for several days.
It comes in a tiny bottle but it will last a LONG time. Because of the mess factor, I recommend wrapping it in paper towels and keeping in a little plastic bag to keep the mess isolated from everything else in your brush box.
A must have for Horse owners Oct 28, 2010
By Tattletale This little bottle of Thrush Remedy is a must have for horse owners to keep on hand. It doesn't stink like the coppertox does, and works great. It's in the barn 'first aid' closet at my house, just in case.
