SSG work n' ride leather gloves Nov 27, 2007
By Loretta A. Bazemore

I bought these especially because they were advertised as lined. They are NOT lined. They are a well made, unlined leather glove, reinforced for rein use. I am not as happy as I'd hoped I'd be because I wanted them for riding on the beach in cold conditions. They are no warmer than SSG all purpose gloves because they are unlined.

They're okay. Dec 14, 2010

I purchased these for my daughter and I to share. Both of us agree that, while they are well made, they aren't really all that warmer than regular gloves. They are not lined and our fingers froze.
So while we can't really call them winter riding gloves, we can use the for regular riding in the spring and fall.

Love these gloves Dec 08, 2010

I love these gloves, for their price, they really can't be beat. I've had mine for over a year, and they've held up really well (I ride at least 4 times a week with them). Like another reviewer said, they aren't really "lined" and are more like a thin sweatshirt-type material. They are warmer than regular summer gloves, but not super warm. I actually like them because they are thin and I can still feel the reins easily. I don't care for bulky gloves. If you are doing riding in the extreme cold, these may not be the gloves for you, but they're great for winter riding for me!

Riding Gloves Feb 21, 2009
By C. J Raught These are nice riding gloves and seem to be well made. I purchased silk glove liners to go with them, giving me the added warmth needed for winter days in the North East, USA.

Love these gloves! Aug 14, 2011
By twh I bought the much pricier SSG leather winter gloves last winter & while they are very nice & made well- they are so thick it was hard to feel & hold onto the reins. I found I was really only using them while grooming/tacking up & sometimes on the occasional winter trail ride.
So I bought these Winter Gripper gloves to try since they were so inexpensive. I love them! For the price they are a great glove. Soft & warm yet you still have 'rein-feel'. Wash easily. I'll be buying another pair for this winter since they got a lot of use & have worn some. I guess it will depend on how much you ride & wash them as to how long they last for you.
Would definitely recommend these!
