Unorthodox use of dog food keeper May 31, 2007
By Rosemary I line the plastic container with a plastic supermarket bag and use it to store dog poop while waiting for trash collection. The lid is truly odorproof and almost completely bug proof. After over a year outside in 0 degree winters and 100 degree summers, the handle finally broke so this time I'm buying two.

exactly what i was looking for Jan 13, 2009
By Jared Archuleta I've searched for months for storage containers that had a hinged lid with a wide opening. These work perfectly for food or pet food storage.

Perfect storage container Dec 25, 2007
By Lauren Trusty This container is perfect for storing dry pet food. It's tall and slim so it fits perfectly into the space I bought it for. The fact that it's clear lets you know when you're getting low on food, and the lid seals tightly so the food stays fresh.

BEWARE OF HEALTH ISSUES! Nov 15, 2007

First let me say that this is a great product as far as design and for storing dog food. I have 3 dogs all different breeds, ages, and sizes. I ahev been storing their food in these containers for about 6 months. I noticed that one of my dogs had a white spot on his nose. I was not concerned at first. I figured it would go away in time. It did not. It got worse. (Sometimes they can scratch their nose and an area will turn white and go away in time) It got worse. Then the new puppy that we have had for about a month got a spot too! It started out just like the other ones. Just a faint little white spot. (THEY BOTH HAVE SOLID BLACK NOSES) Long story short, After going to the vet and ruling out everything else, the spots only occured after I was storing their food in these bins. They have something to do with the chemicals in the plastic. My third dog did not have any discoloration in his nose. My vet said that some dogs are more sinsitive than others. SO...... The vet said that the discoloration does not have any long term health problems, but is definatly not omething to ignore. I am still going to use this product but I will place the actual paper bag inside instead of dumping out the food into the container. I can not say 100% that the reason is this but I can with 99.9%. Search google if you are curious about what I say. I will update if it goes away after I place actual dog food bag in container. Sorry for the long review!

Works well for our cat food storage needs Sep 10, 2010
We could only find our cat food in bulk on line (c'mon, NYC!) so we needed a good storage solution. This nicely holds most of 24lb bag of organic kibble. It's sturdy, and the critters/humidity can't get in.
