4Highly recommend, but be warned, it's a pain to haul up stairs.  Dec 19, 2007
By R. Smith
This crate has fit our 51 lbs. boxer very well. It has more than enough room, and is very easy to collapse. The crate fits easily in the back of the smallest SUVs, or even a hatchback. It is a bit heavy though, and moving it up and down stairs can be a pain. If you have the need for an easily movable dog crate, I cannot recommend this enough. But, if you just need a crate, and don't plan to take it on trips, there may be better options for you.

UPDATE: It's now 4 years later. We bought a second crate almost 3 years ago when we adopted a second boxer, this time an 85 pound boy named Duncan. Today both crates are in great shape. I will say, Duncan was an escape artist, and managed to wedge himself between the bars under the door and get out without unlocking the door. Managed to pop a couple of 'welded' support at the base in doing so. I can't image how difficult and freaky that was for him, but he did it. Imagine my surprise when I got home. A couple of steel carabiners later, and the crate was re-secured. We still have both crates even though we don't lock either dog in them any more. Both boxers will still wander over to them and take a nap in their respective crate. It's also where they "go to bed" before we give them treats and high tail it out the door when we leave the house.

I can't recommend these enough. I found them very sturdy, easy to move for a large crate, and very durable.

One last piece. Both crates are the 'large' size. Just realized I missed that in my original review.

2FAILING WELDS..........  May 27, 2007
By Joseph Wayne
We bought this crate for the compact design and portability, it is the best on the market.

This dog is crate trained and uses a crates in out home. We bought this one for traveling. The first time we used it she broke out because all the welds on the upper front failed. She then bent the wire and the front collapsed inward. The dog was free and chewed.

In the business we call these welds "stick welds" which do not hold.

This crate should be recalled by the manufacturer.

4High Quality, Nice Construction, Eye Pleasing  Aug 03, 2008
By Stephanie Anderson "LUV RAT TERRIERS"
I am a rat terrier breeder and so i know crates, cages and carriers. My daughter and I also show our dogs in conformation, so i know the struggles of moving into and out of hotels, and setting up and breaking down at the shows. EASY is a good thing! ROOM and COMFORT are good things. RUGGEDNESS and a PRETTY PACKAGE are also good things. This line of crates has it all.

There is always a down side. If anything, the strength of the materials used to create this crate means you have to really PULL & PUSH to set it up securely and then reverse your steps to take it down. Once it is set up, however, you can feel confident, that your dogs aren't going anywhere until a human opens the door and invites them to leave.

A beautifully constructed crate that you will be proud to own. The chrome version looks like highly buffed stainless steel.

Reserved one star because I can't comment on how this crate will perform over time. My guess is that it will be around for a long time!

RECOMMEND!

5Great Crate  Jul 13, 2008
By Rick Gramm
Very Happy with this dog crate, very sturdy and well made. Really love how the door works, slight lift and it opens, can also be locked closed if necessary. Price was outstanding, way lower than anywhere else, and I did my homework.

5Fold Easily  Jan 12, 2009
By Kitty McKenzie "Kitty"
This collapsible crate is easy to fold and carry. My dog loves having her own familiar spot when we go to Grandma's, or even when things get busy at home. I've had this crate for four years now, and it hasn't warped or bent.
