Poor quality control Jul 15, 2007
By Myra A. Mason Due to a welding defect, one tubular leg designed to fit inside another would not do so -- a bubble had formed inside the outer tube, obstructing insertion of the inner tube. It was a very simple defect that indicated a lack of quality control on the manufacturer's part.
Also, unless you've ever had a vehicle pet barrier before, it's not obvious that ones like this do not work if you have bucket seats in front, unless you order a separate extension at additional cost. That should be indicated in the product description.

Perfect for my mutts Mar 30, 2010
By Karen
I have been using this pet barrier for three months now in my VW Jetta Wagon and it works perfectly.
I have a lab and golden retriever and I have had no issues with it falling over, getting pushed over, etc.
My daughter likes this particular barrier because she can stick her hand through the bar and pet them on longer trips. I tried two other types in the car but liked this one due to better visibility.

poorly made product May 03, 2009
By Jennifer M. Egelseer the welding is so bad that the legs got stuck inside of themselves with the first one and then the side-wings wouldn't even insert on the second one i tried. bad bad product. and over priced.

Absolutely Horrible design and size capability misrepresented Aug 26, 2011

"Nom de guerre"
This barrier appears sturdy and the horizontal adjustments look great- but the overall design makes it useless. The first irritation is that it came with no installation instructions so I had to look it up online The claim is that the short extension bars can fit a space up to 37 inches high- not true. At full extension it didn't even come close in my CRV- a small SUV. Don't bother getting the long extension bars- The adjustable feet are wobbly and the vertical tension is supported by nothing but two washers- smaller than the ones in my kitchen fawcet. the result is that the feet have no support- they slip and rock back and forth AND clearly two washers inside a tube do not create enough tension to support this guard. The feet bend back and forth- my peaceful dogs would knock it down in a second just by bumping into it. I can only assume from other reviews it works dramatically differently in a smaller car. If I could give it a zero I would - this is going straight back.

Awesome product! Oct 13, 2010
By Jewel Received this item yesterday, took about 30 minutes to install. It fits great and was very easy to put together. Took my Buddy (110 lbs.) out for a long test drive, he's very much a lap dog too, and it stood up to his attempts to get to me. That's exactly what I need and it does the job very well. Also, I appreciate that it doesn't have so much of a "jail" look to it like some others. Noticed no rattles of any kind and it will be very simple to take out/put back in whenever I want to. Thanks for this product!
