Easy to install and so far so good Aug 23, 2007

Very easy to assemble, install and maintain....I was looking for something simple to use in a converted 1500 gallon stone trough / garden bed. It gets 6 hours a day of direct sun light and the water is clear and can see to the bottom of the pond (2.5" deep)....so far so good. Only downside was the poorly written owners manual, BUT the product was so easy to assemble that it was a moot point. I would strongly recommend this for someone looking for an easy to manage pond with little maintenance.

great pond filter for very small pond Jan 18, 2012
By superdot09 Ok, I now have 2 of these things going.........one of them has been installed for about 1.5 years, and the other only about 6 months, neither has had any problems. There is "one little thing"
This is advertised as being able to handle up to a "2000 gallon" pond........I assume that this may work, if your pond is fully surrounded by a finished floor and inside of a covered building with no plants in it. If you have any fish or plants in your pond, or if you have plants surrounding your pond, I would step up to a more serious pond filter. This thing is a Pain in the @$$ to clean. For starters you have to keep it weighted down with rocks to get it to stay nicely on the bottom of your pond. My ponds are an approximately 100 gallon waterfall, and 300 gallon pond, lightly planted, and with a few gold fish in them. I have had to clean the smaller one out about every 3-5 months and the larger one about every other month now............and having to dredge the whole thing up from the bottom to clean it out is a huge mess.............this is why I would not recommend it on anything over probably 500 gallons
Now that I just got done telling all of the bad things about it.......It does come with a quality pump that puts out enough pressure for a nice small waterfall, and if you use it for a very small pond you don't have to clean it very often. I would still buy another one if I was doing another similar setup, but I would not buy another for anything larger than what I have.
