Should be featured on "Modern Marvels" Apr 28, 2008

"All Around Good Guy"
I have 6 cats and 2 of them are on the large side. The bigger cats never seemed comfortable in the average size boxes that you find in Wal-Mart, etc. They would "miss" the box sometimes too and that would make for a mess.
This box is so big that I bought a 40lb box of litter at the same time and I dumped the whole 40lbs of litter in the box and it was still several inches from the top of it. It is huge!
I bought one initially and all the cats loved it so much that I bought a second one. I had several small ones and they are now in the trash as they are no longer needed. Two of these with a daily cleaning works for 6 cats.
I love it so much that I wish I was a cat so I could use it. Actually, I could but my wife would have issues with that.......I was just kidding about that.
But, my cats love it, I'd love it if I were a cat and your cats will love it too.

HUUUUUGE Nov 05, 2007

Yes, this litterbox is HUUUUUUUGE!!! I've never seen a box this huge and this deep before. And in a house full of 7 cats, I've tried LOTS of boxes and have always had at least three spread out throughout the house which had to be scooped daily. I'll still have to scoop this one daily but it'll be easier than making the pooper scooper round! The box is deep (10 inches) but not so deep that my six month olds can't easily get in and out. Being this deep, it's difficult for the cats to kick and scratch litter outside the box. (Now if they could just invent a way to get the litter off of their feet before the spread it all over my bathroom on their way out! lol) It's nice to have a place to put your scooping supplies as well. I've always thought it was cumbersome to have to have another container nearby for the scoop and that it sure would be nice for manufacturers to include a litter scoop compartment or contraption in the box design. This box is very heavy duty made too. It's not going to wobble around when you pick it up or anything like that. I reminded me of an extra heavy duty baby bath tub (only bigger) when I first opened it up. I can't recommend this box enough for a house full of cats or for large cats who have a problem tucking themselves into regular size boxes.

GREAT GIGANTIC LITTER BOX Nov 11, 2008
By piano player I received the gigantic litter box from Petmate in the mail this morning by Fed-ex. I have had cats my whole life and currently have six and two that are very large, fat and lazy. I can honestly say the litter box far exceeded my expections in size and quality. As soon as I put it on the floor and put the litter in it all the "curious" cats checked it out and adapted to it right away. I was a little concerned at first about the litter box being 10 inches high in the product description but the front part of the litter box where the cats jump and enter is a little curved down and only measures 7 inches high which makes it very easy for any size grown cat to jump in and do it's thing (with the exception of a very small kitten). You won't be disappointed in this litter box especially if you do have multiple cats as I do but as another previous reviewer stated you better have a big space to put it in. Five stars all the way for me!

Very large litter box May 01, 2010
By JJ F. I read several of the reviews on this before I bought it, and got several different measurements for it. This litter box is huge. The acutal measurements are 34 inches (2 ft 10in) inches long by 19 1/2 (1 ft. 7 in) inches wide. The area that actually holds the litter is 26 inches by 19 1/2 inches. It is 10 inches deep, with a 7 1/2 inch deep area in the middle of the front so the cat can more easily get into and out of it. I actually had to saw off the portion that holds supplies, in order to get it to fit in the area that I have for it to go in, but even at that I would still have purchased it anyway because I have a long, lanky cat that needs the space. It is very sturdy and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a litter box of this size. It also has Microban, which is nice. I use the Johnny Cat Jumbo size liners for my old box, and they don't even come close to fitting this one.

Perfect for a "big boned" cat Aug 08, 2008

I purchased this product on behalf of my parents and their 22 pound cat who was prone to peeing wherever the fancy struck. After many months of trying to remedy this problem, we finally decided to get the biggest litter box we could find. This box is huge! Both household cats were immediately attracted to it, getting inside to dig around (what fun!). The 22 pound cat finally had a box that he could fit in without hanging over edges or being scrunched into a too small space. He showed his satisfaction by peeing in the box, and he has had no outside-the-box mishaps since. I don't personally care for the side compartments, but the results are well worth the minor inconvenience. Be prepared to use a lot of litter; a minimum of 30 pounds in my experience.
