I had problems with cat getting on leather couch...
Tried everything to keep him off but to no luck...
Heard about scat mat, tried it and boy does it work GREAT....
I would suggest anyone having this problem, try it.... IT WORKS...

I got the scat mat to try and keep the 70 lb boxer we inherited when my father passed from climbing onto our leather couch. She was used to sleeping on the couch at my father's home but I was afraid she'd puncture the soft leather with her claws under her weight. From the very first night using it on the "tone" only setting, she has avoided the couch. So have my other two small dogs that were use to being allowed on the couch. Apparently, the tone is unpleasant enough to keep them off. I did test the "static" setting on myself to be certain it wouldn't be too much for my smaller dogs who weigh about 15 lbs. Where it is an unpleasant sensation, it is not too extreme for a smaller dog. However, I am glad that using the "tone" setting was sufficient. I don't feel bad about that at all. I would recommend this product to anyone trying to keep an animal off of any surface. I wish I had known about this product back when I had cats. They were always climbing up on my counter tops while we were sleeping or gone. This product would have stopped that!

While we were at work during the day, our Weimaraner started to get into the habit of destroying our couch cushions. I would come home, and all the cushions would be strewn on the floor, and the dog would be chewing on the corner of one of them. We bought the scat mat, put it on the couch before we left in the morning, and like magic, the cushions are all intact where we left them when we come back from work. This product made a difference in ONE DAY!
I tested the product on the lowest setting myself before I used it for the first time. And while the electric charge that it gives you isn't pleasant, it's not painful. Although it has three settings, I doubt we'll ever need anything but the lowest one.

I bought this because my 9 month old kitten was constantly clawing at my bedroom door and rug at night trying to get in. He completely ruined my carpet trying dig himself in when the door is shut at night. If I left the door open; he would barge in at 4am, jump on my bed and think it's playtime. I had no idea how to stop this unruly behavior until I had a friend recommend a "scat mat". Honestly, this has been the biggest life saver ever! I can sleep through the night with no distractions. Yes, for a plastic mat, it's expensive, but for me, it was worth the money, because it works. I lay the mat outside my bedroom door at night and turn it on. Since it gives him that small shock everytime he steps on it, he no longer scratches on the door or claws up the rug trying to get in!! If you rent; you need this!! It's great and I highly recommend it! **UPDATED** Our's has stopped working. I guess the wires in the mat got damaged some how. We only had this mat less than 2 years! PIECE OF GARBAGE!

The Scat Mat works great. It has kept my cat from the closet door that she was constantly scratching at. Now she can come in my office with me and we're both happy.
