I feel that this door is overpriced for the quality of it's construction. For this amount of money they shouldn't be giving you plastic screws to hold the dog door together. I have a St. Bernard and Boxer that use this door.
Cons:
1. Plastic screws to hold the door frame together. These had to be replaced within a week to keep the frame intact and attached to the house door.
2. Flap falls out of the door on occasion. Have to remove interior portion of frame to re-attach.
3. In extreme cold weather(-10F) the flap will be so rigid that the aluminum frame actually gives more than the plastic of the flap. The internal cross bar that holds the flap is only held with a single screw on each end. There are little edges(1mm tall) on the side frame to keep the bar from twisting when the flap moves, but in this weather the rigid flap acts like a lever to twist the crossbar past these edges and eventually the edges will be worn off. If the edges were taller, it would be harder for the bar to twist. Not a good design.
4. $25 replacement flaps? A little steep for a piece of plastic.
5. Poor customer service. I complained about #3 above and they couldn't believe that would happen to their door. Apparently the door's inability to hold up under normal usage is not covered under warranty. According to the CSR, since the frame didn't ship damaged, it's not a product defect.
6. Keep your receipt, the website claims that if you register, warranty claims will not require a receipt. Untrue, they still wanted a receipt.
Pros:
1. Fairly easy/quick installation.
2. Keeps the cold out.
3. Decent if you have year round warm weather.
All in all it does do it's job, but there are several things to watch out for. If you think that you might need to RMA the door, I'd look at another brand that stands behind their product.

Yeah OK the flaps can get stiff in the COLD, to the point that they will crack at the top and even break.( below 0 degrees F.) But it took over 3 years for that to happen, and I have 2 collies and a beagle that use this daily, in and out.
I installed it in the wall. One on the outside of the house, and one on the inside of the house. And because I have a 6 inch thick wall, they work well together and create a bit of an airlock which helps to keep the cold drafts out. The magnets on the bottom help keep it closed, and we have never had a problem with it coming open in the "breeze", 40 mph winds, well then it will open. I will never have another dog without having one of these, and have used others and this model holds up well. Metal frame and the flap is replaceable. I have been using this model over 12 years and have had to fix it twice.
If you have a puppy and an older dog, this thing will help potty train your dog. The puppy simply follows them outside..........assumming you have chosen an intelligent breed. We have never had a problem with dogs "going" in the house. One thing though, if they get used to it you cannot lock it without problems, as the dog gets used to going out at will. Which is why I love it! You can leave the house and not have to worry about getting home to let the dog out.
Fence in your yard though, your best friend is worth it!

Door is poorly designed and of marginal quality. Problems include:
- in a mild breeze door fly's like a kite (opens wide)
- door attaching hardware is very poor (plastic or nylon)
Really disappointed in the installation and overall quality of the dog door. In a minor wind it might as well not be there. Had to re-engineer installation with new hardware to make more robust. Really not worth the cost.

The door is built well. Aluminum frame. First off it will NOT fit doors that have a thickness of less than 1 3/8 inches. It says it will fit as small as 1/16 inches. It is a good design and built sturdy but there needs to be a few tweaks. The flange where the screws are attached is too small so the holes are very close to the door opening. The screws have little room to attach and you have to be perfect when drilling holes for it. Very little room for error. Secondly, it comes with PLASTIC screws. Yes, plastic. Im sure the engineers could come up with something better than that. All in all, for the price it is a good door. You can get it cheaper at the manufacturers website. [...].

This little doggie door is the best. With the metal frame construction and ease of installation, this product is a sure win. It was the best size for my old Mini Dachshund and Chihuahua. Just make sure you have a plung circular saw or a jig saw to cut through the door. The only reason that I didn't give this product 5 stars is that it comes with plastic screws to mount the door, and well lets just say they don't hold up to the installation very well. A small trip to your local hardware store, and the same bolt in metal worked out better. The plastic ones do work well, but if you happen to strip one like I did, there is help at the local hardware store for a $0.99.
