Perfect for an older pet Jul 12, 2003
By David C. Roberts We have a 15 year old Caridgan Welsh Corgi who can't do stairs any more because she has a bad shoulder and a bad hip. But we have two steps at the front door, where she needs to go out. After shopping a LOT I found the PetStep ramp. I liked the fact that it's approved by the ASPCA, and ordered one. The ramp is well made of very sturdy plastic construction. We leave it set up outside all the time, and it's clear that it will last. The instructions that come with it say that it will hold 250 pounds and I believe it. A very nice feature is that the center part of the ramp, where the dog walks, is a rubberized material, making it easy walking. With a little training, our Kendall can now get herself up and down the ramp. Yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks! We taught her by leading her up and down the ramp by holding a dog snack a couple of feet in front of her, then giving it to her when she completed the trip. Then we gradually replaced the dog treats with petting, hungs and congratuations--which she liked even better than the treats. These days a "good dog" does the trick.

Sturdy Ramp but Difficult and Ackward to Fold Aug 18, 2006
By K. McKenna Good sturdy ramp supports a lot of weight and gives great traction to the animal but it is difficult and ackward to fold up and takes up a lot of room in the car. I would love this product if it came in a telescoping version.

"Have Faith"
The Petstep II Multi-Purpose Dog Sately Ramp was perfect for getting my black Lab, Blake, out of the water and over our sea wall. He is over 90 pounds and it was sturdy and supported his weight. He is very appreciative and so am I!
I would highly recommend this product and the seller selling it.

Extremely sturdy and useful ramp Jan 02, 2008
By MoonHowler Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2BZXI8QK8CQUA I was skeptical when I got this ramp that my two dogs would like to use it, or even be able to. Boy, was I surprised! This ramp is really wide, and has a great non-skid surface. The heaviness is actually a plus, because it does not move when the dogs walk up it. I led them up it every day for a few days, then just sat on the tailgate and watched them walk up the ramp on their own. No treats, they just like to get in the truck. I was surprised because I had previously tried steps, and they would not use them. But the ramp seems easy for them to walk up. Some people have said it is hard to set up and use, they are afraid of getting pinched, etc. My experience was, that I learned to use it TOTALLY automatically after a few weeks. I was careful at first. This is a very high quality, heavy duty ramp.

TERRIFIC FOR EVEN AN OLDER DOG Feb 07, 2005
By Katherine S. Schendt
"golden retriever mom"
Ok, I was worried that my smart golden retriever would be able to learn this "new trick." As with any command, gentle reassurance, praise and treats, our 10-year-old golden loves her new "toy." What a joy to not see her "worry" about trying to jump into my SUV!
