my cats favorite toy Jun 22, 2008
By N. Ross My cat is VERY finicky when it comes to toys. She has nearly every cat toy in existence, but she doesn't pay attention to any of them at all. And the ones that she has paid attention to, it has never lasted more than a couple days before she got tired of them. But then on a whim, I picked these fish toys up at the pet store. It is now three months later and when she isn't sleeping or eating, she is sliding around the kitchen and dining room batting these fish around and attacking them. Occasionally, she will bring them to her water bowl and dunk them in (that is the true sign that she loves a toy...only her favorites get put into her water bowl). While I wash dishes, she will bat one towards me and I will kick it across the kitchen and she will attack it and bring it back to me, so I can kick it again. She is really big on chewing the strings or ribbons off of all of her toys (I have to cut the tails off of her toy mice, because within a day she will eat the tail otherwise...have many pieces of clothing that used to have drawstrings, but she has chewed them all off), so I was worried she would chew the ribbons off of these fish, but I guess these are super tough, because she hasn't chewed them off.

Crinkle Fish Nov 06, 2008
By Renee Komodowski Best cat toy I've ever purchased.
I have 4 cats and they all love their fishies. 1 used to be a stray and is now a scaredy-cat; she's pretty easily frightened by noises, but the plastic in the fins crinkles just enough to interest her (and all the others) without freaking her out and without being an interruption for us.
Easily carried and very resistant to claws and teeth (even the ribbons, though I don't have gnawers). I bought a couple to hold back, just in case they get discontinued or anything.

fishy fun! May 31, 2008

My cats just love these little guys! The bright colors and ribbon tails catch their attention. I especially like that there are no little pieces sewn on for kitties to bite off and swallow. I'd recommend them to anyone who wants to give their favorite feline an inexpensive but fun toy.

My cat's all-time favorite toy Jun 11, 2010
By Bird That Flew These "crinkle fish" are my 5 yo Bobtail's all-time favorite toy. They're the first toy we ever got him, and years later it's still the one he loves the most. Before I found them on Amazon, we would go to the pet store and buy them out so we'd have plenty on hand when he managed to lose some behind furniture! The fins have a crinkly material inside of them. The toys are very well made and despite what some other reviewers have said, I have never in 5 years had a problem with them falling apart or with loose parts. The material the toys are sewn from is some kind of nylon that almost self-heals when punctured by teeth or claws. My cat's fish have pinholes in them from his teeth but the stuffing never pokes out. The fins and ribbons in the tail have also never budged. The eyes and mouth are embroidered on, so there's nothing to come loose there (threads included). Very well made. Give them a try, your cat will love them.

Not the best Sep 20, 2008

Once I actually saw the little ribbon-like tails on the ends of the fish and how delicate they were, I had to cut them off. I wished I hadn't purchased these toys at all. One of my cats in particular likes to bite and swallow string-like things and had to have abdominal surgery shortly after I adopted her. My mistake for not paying closer attention.
