Pet Gear Cot lightweight and easy to set up. Feb 15, 2007
By Mamabear We have two large dogs and we bought the pet gear cot to keep them cool by elevating them off the ground. The cot is not as tall as other cots we have had in the past, but it seems to be holding up under an 80 lb dog. The item was shipped to us quickly and it was very easy to set up.

Poor Quality Sep 03, 2007
By Mad Dog I purchased several of these dog beds. No sooner did I get them put together, and let a dog up onto it, the entire cover ripped. I reported this and it was replaced with another. 3 days later, that one ripped. Every cot I purchased has ripped. When I asked if I could just replace the cover, I was told you can't buy it separately. I am very disappointed in this product. They do not hold true to the weight limit at all.. And they are certainly not durable as dog beds should be! Shame on you for even selling this product!!

My dog used this item only two days and it tore all apart. I was very disappointed and feel I wasted my money. My suggestion is DON'T buy it!!!
Better as a support/platform for another bed. Jan 28, 2010

My 43lb senior German Shepherd mix took right to this cot. However, I placed another bed on top of it, and used the cot as a sort of mattress support frame. That may be partly why I have not experienced any ripping or similar issues. It's gotten her up off the ground and offers even more support than an orthopedic style mat, which has totally helped reduce some of her stiffness (she is also on an anti-inflammatory). It is super easy to keep clean, just brush or hose it off. This is a major improvement over the thicker style foam beds that are difficult to wash regularly. For my 110lb GSD, I will likely go with a more durable bed like Kuranda, as it seems to hold up better for larger dogs. I have seen Kuranda beds put through some serious use from large, active dogs at the Oregon Humane Society several years ago, and they seem to be well worth the price. You also get a larger size for your money.

Pet cot Aug 18, 2008
By Dorothy A. Towne This is a great idea, I purchased two for my 100 lb. plus dogs. They came apart and broke within a month after purchase. They definately need to be better constructed.
