5Pleasantly Suprised!  Apr 23, 2010
By GoLightly "shopping123"
Well, after reading lots of reviews about similar products, I decided to purchase this one- even though some had stated that it wasn't very good. First let me point out that there are no directions with this feeder- so really it's best to follow the advice of others that have posted reviews as far as the best way to hang the feeder. I put the feeder up, put in some food, and waited. A few hours later we heard a crash! I was horrified that my brand new feeder had crashed down and shattered into a billion pieces. I should probably add that I live in a dormitory on the third floor with both grass and cement below us. I was very relieved to find the feeder still completely in tack...and was able to find the suction cups nearby as well. I then went back and found some of the reviews that suggest how to prepare the window and suctions cups so the feeder will stay in place. I washed the window very well, and washed the suction cups in warm soapy water. I let both air dry completely. Then, as suggested by another purchaser, I ran my finger gently across my t-zone (forehead and bridge of nose) and then wiped the finger across the suction cups. This very small amount of natural oil is said to help the suctions cups stick. After firmly placing the cups on the window I attached the feeder- and haven't had any problems with it since! We've had some pretty tough thunderstorms too! It did take almost 2 wks for the birds to find the feeder- but now they love it and I lvoe to watch/hear them! We've had cardinals, sparrows, several different type of finch's and others that I don't recognize. I should note that this is a fairly small feeder and really accomodates only one bird at a time (some of the small sparrows will feed 2 at a time). I'm considering purchasing another to place nearby! I really love how close you can get to the birds without disturbing them- the opening on the back is great to have because then the only thing seperateing you from the birds is the glass of your own window! I highly recommend (just remember to prep the window and suction cups before "hanging")!

5A great little feeder  May 20, 2009
By Frequent Shopper
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RPXPG5HQTNV51 I have been pleasantly surprised with this little feeder. As you can see in the video clip, the feeder can be filled to the brim with seeds and hold 2 birds and still not fall. In fact, I have had two of these feeders on my windows for well over three months and have yet to have them fall off. The birds enjoy eating out of these feeders - despite the fact our cats leap into the window trying to attack them. They provide hours of entertainment.

5Birds and people love it  Jan 01, 2008
By D. Dalessio
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RAHPO5O3DK5W1 Installation was a breeze. I cleaned the window well, then stuck on the suction cups.

It didn't take the birds long to find it. We've had Chickadees, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Titmouse, and more.

We have a cat that often sits in that windowsill and it doesn't deter the birds from eating. (Don't worry, the window is always closed, and he can't get to the birds.)

3NOT as large as other reviews describe...  Dec 03, 2009
By Océane
I think it's really wrong that the dimensions of this product aren't written on the page. And I'm surprised that not one of the other reviewers thought to give them!

Here they are:
The outside dimensions are 7.5" wide at the widest point, and 6.5" high at the highest point. At the smallest points (the sides) it is 3.5" high.
The dimensions of the hole that birds can perch in are: 6" wide at the widest point, and 4" high at the highest point. BUT at the sides of the hole, it is only 1.5" high.

So the hole that birds can perch in is very small. I seriously doubt that cardinals can perch there. So far I have only seen finches. Maybe the other reviewers are reviewing an older product that used to be larger?

And I've looked elsewhere, and I just can't find anything bigger. It seems like there's a big gaping hole in the market waiting to be filled. Why won't any of these companies make a window feeder that's just a couple inches bigger? It's frustrating.

I'm keeping it because it's a good price (when I got the feeder it was about $6 plus shipping) and it wouldn't be worth it to send it back. I just thought that people interested in purchasing this should have better information before they make their decision.

Update: I changed this review from 2 stars to 3, mostly because it has held up well so far. Yes, it's smaller than I would like, but it has never once fallen off the window and the little birds like it. (Be aware that it can take them a while to notice it, but once they do they'll come back.) It's very cool seeing a wild bird just a few feet away from your face.

4This is a great feeder!  May 01, 2007
By Leah Bannon
I almost didn't order this feeder because it seemed a little cheap - just a simple clear-plastic box, basically. But in this simplicity lies it's beauty! It's sturdy, easy to stick on the window, and easy to fill. Most importantly though, because it's all clear, it's the best feeder for watching your visiting birds.
