I'm happy I picked the small size instead of the large. It is just the right size so it doesn't seem obtrusive, and it stays securely clipped over the bag. When the bag of food (17 lb) starts to get rather empty, the weight of the scoop makes the top of the bag fold over slightly.
The dimensions of the scoop are approx 7 1/4" long including both cup and handle and 3 1/4" wide. The cup portion by itself is approximately 3" wide, 4" long (at the very top), and 3" deep. The cup marks where 1/2 cup and 1 full cup (filled to top) are.
This is a great item for me as I previously used an old metal measuring cup to scoop out food from the bag and would just leave the cup in the bag of food after using it. Doing this, I would always have to dig the cup back out of the food in the bag to scoop out the next meal because it would inevitably get buried. Now, the scoop is always somewhere secure near the package of food where I don't have to dig for it. It's made of heavy plastic, and seems solidly constructed.

This pet food scoop is great! The scoop is marked at 1/2 cup and 1 cup which is very convenient because we have small and medium-sized dogs - it helps me make sure that I don't under- or overfeed them. :) The clip is great and doesn't fall off the bag.
Also, it's not a big deal but just note that the food scoop was a lighter blue than shown in the picture.

The scoop is too bulky, but does measure out the correct amount of food. If you have time, I would search for another scoop.

Our cats eat a selection of 3 varieties of dry food. I have one of these small scoops for 2 of the bags, and am now ordering 1 more. Ive found I really like them. It is very convenient to clip onto each bag, it's always right there ready to use. It scoops very well, and holds the food without spilling as you transport it to the bowl. It is just the right size for a medium bowl of food, 1-cup. Of course your can scoop up 'less' if you want less.

This is great - just received it - just like another reviewer mentioned searching in a large bag of food for a cup is gone (not like it was the end of the world).
this is nice to seal the bag and have a measuring cup right at hand.
i have a little doggy so this is a perfect amount of food -
i may buy another one for the kitty food.
