Does an okay job on some things... Dec 26, 2006
By Amber Hathaway I was lured by the idea of not having to buy lint roller refills ever again, but it seems that this lint remover is actually very hit-or-miss. It does pretty well with lint and pet hair on the couch and other solid objects, but taking the cat hair off of my sweaters and jackets it another story...it just doesn't quite get the job done. If your main concern is upholstery or some other fabric-covered item, this is a fairly good product for that, but traditional sticky lint rollers may give you more bang for your buck.

Cat Hair Be Gone! Aug 09, 2007
By J. Wallgren I've purchased these little spongy things at the pet store for twice the price. They're GREAT at pulling together cat hair on quilts, fabric-covered couches, etc. to make it more manageable to collect and throw out. The only slight downside is they have a weird rubbery smell that can rub off, but it goes away shortly after use. They seem to last several months before drying out. Will buy more from Amazon in the future.
A hair sponge, really? Mar 28, 2009
By Carlgo We took in an injured mostly ferrel black cat, a long-haired one. It has a favorite chair, one that is upholstered in a kind of rustic rough beige cloth. It got black in a hurry. The vac wasn't much use and while wide cellophane packing tape works, it is a tedious process.
I came across this sponge thing and was intrigued. How in the world would a sponge pick up animal hair? The idea was so strange that I just had to read the reviews to see what is up with these. The sponge people were at least as happy as owners of other systems, so I went for it.
I don't know what they are made of. Not the same as a normal kitchen sponge, or a natural one, it is kind of heavy and dense with a moist feel.
When it arrived we went right to work on the chair and.... it works! Not perfectly because it requires a lot of repetition, but in a few minutes the chair was clean. Again, this was a coarse weave and other reviewers have had different results on different materials.
The hardest part is getting the hair off the sponge. It really sticks to it and does not just roll up or slide off.
The sponge may work for you, at least on some things, and it is cheap enough to give it a try.
The cat's leg healed up and now it runs around outside all day, climbs trees and is feeling might fine. It likes the outdoors, but comes in now and then for its affection hit and to see if we were careless and dropped mouseburgers on the floor. The sponge is in a drawer, ready to go if needed.
Does a Good Job Jan 26, 2009
By R. Greenlee We've been using these sponge pet hair lifters for years. We have several long haired cats and pet hair is a concern, especially in the spring and summer months. The "Out" pet hair sponge works great on couches, beds, quilts, rugs, and cat furniture. Even though the instructions say that it's not necessary to wet the sponge, I have found that dampening it slightly increases the effectiveness of the sponge. Unfortunately it's not very efficient on clothing. Better to use a roller or fat tape to remove pet hair from clothes.

crap Jun 25, 2008
By Sisterhavoc Save your money. I used this to get cat hair off my couch and all it did was spread it around in clumps. Absolutely worthless.
