Purr-fect Product Dec 12, 2007
By A Ford Fan I bought the diffuser and the spray. I took my cat off the streets and 3 months later moved. Two traumatic changes for him. He cried non-stop for two weeks! My vet said to get Feliway. Petsmart was out so I bought Pet-Ease whose refills are much cheaper (super plus). I couldn't believe the difference. He rolled over on his back and went right to sleep. He rarely cries (except before dinner when I'm walking to his dish)and seems much happier. The spray is nice for areas the diffuser doesn't reach--his favorite blanket, tv room, crate for trips to vet, etc. My other stray who didn't mind the move loves it as well. He was always standoffish but loves to be "handled" more now. Run out and get it!

Great product, but not for every situation Dec 02, 2008

Using this spray is a great idea. Pheronomes are recommended in every cat behavior book I have read for everything from cat aggression to litter box problems. I have been using a diffuser for about a month. I also use this spray in places the diffuser can't reach such as the basement, and specific areas the cats sleep or tend to "hang out." There has been a slight difference in the aggression issues between two of my cats (I have four). But the real issue in my house is that the main kitty culprit was not raised around its mother so does not understand proper cat etiquette. I was hoping the pheronomes would help calm the situation, but there are still cat fights resulting from her bad manners. But I still would recommend trying it.

Smells good to me, but the cats don't think much of it. Dec 23, 2011

I think this spray smells really nice. I actually like spraying it around the house because it leaves a nice herby fragrance. However, I haven't noticed that my cats pay any attention to it whatsoever. I was using it to try to prevent the cats scratching on my couches. The couches smell nice now, but the cats are still scratching. It is a bit expensive to use as a fragrance spray or I would keep buying it to spray around the house just for the scent, but change cat behavior it does not.
I was also having problems with my one cat spraying his territory in the house. He is an anxious sort. He has the most obsessive love for my daughter and me, and also feels that the house and all its contents are constantly in jeopardy of being claimed by another cat. He sometimes loses his marbles and sprays directly ON me, by the door, my side of the bed, and my daughter's bedroom furniture. This calming spray does nothing to help with that, but the cat attract cat litter certainly helps cut down on that behavior. It is expensive, but I have had a lot of success with it. I hope that helps some of you that have a similar possessive feline at home. Since I got the litter, he mostly just rubs his face against my daughter and me, which we like. He can mark us as his property that way anytime he wants. The spraying right on me and near our beds, not so much.
So, like I said, this is a lovely product as far as smell and ease of use, but I think I would only buy it at a lower cost to use as an air freshener, not buy it at a higher price for what is supposedly does but doesn't do.

Worked for me! Apr 10, 2011

My 9 year old male Maine Coon has been "marking" in the house. This spray, paired with the Feliway plug-ins has helped him to calm down and reduce that behavior. I like the pleasant herbal scent rather than something chemical-smelling.

Works So Far Nov 13, 2011
By ColtJ My cat is 11 years old and is totally an indoor, non-traveling cat. Well, all that is about to change. Next month he is going on a plane for the first time traveling from NJ to California with me, where he will stay for 6 weeks and then travel back to NJ. That's a lot to ask of a cat who's basically been the feline equivalent of a couch potato for the last 11 years.
So I've done a lot of research. I've got my new, airline-approved, soft sided Sherpa bag ready to go and sent away for the Nutri-Vet Pet Ease Spray. I am really hoping to avoid having to give him a tranquilizer since there are so many bad side effects.
All the advice sites say to get your cat used to traveling in the bag before you go. Yesterday I started his "training." I put him in the bag and took him for a short car ride. He seemed a bit afraid and constantly mewed (a soft meow) the whole time. I purposely did not use the Pet Ease spray because I wanted to see if it really works. Well, I'm here to tell you this stuff DOES work. Today I sprayed about 3 or 4 sprays into the carrier 30 minutes before I put him in it. He mewed for about 5 minutes initially and then total quiet as we went on our ride. I purposely extended the length of the ride and still nothing. Looking inside the carrier as we drove he actually looked blissful. Once we arrived home he came out of the carrier awake and alert.
I would have rated this product 5 stars but I'm going to wait and see how it performs on a 2,500 mile plane trip with one stop and a car ride from the airport to the final destination.
UPDATE TO ORIGINAL POSTING: Just realized a big issue. This spray is marketed as helping relieve stress related to travel as one of its benefits. I was planning on taking this product along with me in case I need to re-spray the carrier. However, the bottle is 4 oz. and TSA rules for carry-on liquids specify 3 oz. or less. Now I'm going to have to find a smaller bottle to put it in if I want to bring it with me on the plane. Message to Nutri-Vet: Make a 3 oz. travel sized bottle!!!
