Can make a big difference in the health of your cat! Apr 02, 2012
By Jeff Furman
"Jeff Furman, PMP Instructor and author of The Project Management Answer Book"
Pet-owners can care a lot about their cats and kittens but can make mistakes in diet that can really affect their health and well-being. For instance, we know that cats love canned tuna, but... Q. Did you know that too much tuna in the diet can be very bad for them? Q. And do you know why? Q. Do you know the specific protein that's NOT in tuna but that cats need in order to live? Q. And do you know that between cats and dogs, that one group is carnivorous and the other omnivorous, and what this means for providing a good diet for your cat?
These are a few of the many questions and answers that I myself learned when I read this excellent short book, which can help cat-owners easily do a better job keeping their cats healthy and happy.
And the quick, funny writing style, illustrated with very charming cartoons as well as photographs, makes it a very fun read as well.

Obesity isn't pretty, even in the family pet. Sep 14, 2005
By Sam In this day and age, news about the obesity crisis is everywhere. Americans are fatter than ever, and we know it. But what about the family cat? What makes his or her little weight issue less important?
Ms. Garvey addresses this topic in My Fat Cat. Do you know how to tell if your cat is overweight? Or how to ensure that your cat lives a healthy life? If not, you would be doing your furry friend a service by reading this book. Garvey's clear, straightforward advice on improving your pet's diet and exercise routines and plenty more make this book a must-own for any cat-lover whose cat has a bit of a paunch (or more).
You've probably been on a diet yourself at some point in the past year. You try to eat right, stay active, and generally live a healthy life. So why not seek the same for your cat? The way is simple, and Ms. Garvey's book is a great way to find it.
