Tremendous! Jun 26, 2008
By L. Norton I got an amazing deal on this piece from Amazon. Be prepared for a very large piece. It was a little daunting to get the 7+ foot box into the house. It was very much worth it, though. My cats love climbing the carpeted poles and sneaking in and out of the tunnel and crow's nest. I've never seen cat furniture before that seems so solid and extremely well put together and appears that it will last a lifetime. Great for a multi-cat home!

Big cats? Don't buy this! Sep 09, 2011
By Cathy Loup This tree is very sturdy and well-made. But if you have Maine Coons (or other large felines), please be aware that this is NOT appropriate for them. The holes in the components are too small for them to squeeze through, and the space between components is too small to allow them to stand.
I didn't order ours through Amazon, but I'd like to help other cat lovers avoid my stupid mistake.

AWESOME!! My cats LOVE it! Jul 08, 2008
By Shopping Pro I have a home with 7 cats and they LOVE this cat tree! It is so solid and is made so well made - real quality. All 7 cats are on it at once and it is solid as a rock. It weights 150 pounds, without the cats ;-) It is solid and will last a lifetime. Get one, your cats will love it.
Excellent cat trees, but be careful from whom you order Jun 06, 2011
By shredbetty An update to my comments below made in anticipation of the new cat tree, but now with it having arrived.... So it arrived in good condition, given how far it was shipped by freight. But when we opened it up, we saw that it was really in rough condition, that is, it seemed like a rush job or that it was done by trainees before a holiday weekend. Simply not what we had expected from M&F given that we had ordered one from them two years ago and know how perfect they can be. The carpet was low pile and fraying at all the seams, some staples were loose, and the carpet covering in certain areas seemed not quite to fit the entire surface. Needless to say, we were disappointed and despaired having to return it to Amazon. After calling M&F (we by-passed Amazon altogether) and explained the condition, M&F offered to make us a new one, and ship it to us all at no cost. Totally amazing customer service! They really do want you to be happy with their product.
It seems some of the items that Amazon buys directly from M&F and send to their distribution warehouse may actually be SECONDS -- hence the very low price they offer including shipping. But Amazon doesn't mark them as such -- at least it didn't mark this one. I suppose if we had never seen a Molly & Friends tree before, we might have thought, "Hhmmm, a bit rough, ok, but it's still 10x better than anything else on the market." After we trimmed the frays, tapped the staples back in and vacuumed the dust and bits off, the cats, of course, climbed all over it not noticing anything wrong at all. They love M&F! We do too! This is truly outstanding customer service! Once the replacement tree arrives, we'll donate this one to the county shelter.
General Comments about Molly & Friends Cat Trees:
I TOTALLY LOVE M&F!!!
Just ordered the Virgie after looking for another cat tree. My four large cats have thoroughly tested a previously purchased Molly & Friends Pinnacle Tower, and after two years of constant use and occasional abuse, it is still highly functional, looks good, and the cats just love it. So after looking for a second tree (all four are indoor cats, so having indoor entertainment options keeps them off the curtains and bookshelves), we went with another Molly & Friends, the Virgie, this time. I expect it to be as functional, sturdy, high quality, and well-used as the first. These are so solidly constructed and nearly indestructible. My cats are large, variously between 11-18 pounds of muscle and frenzy, and they launch themselves at the tree, climbing up the posts, chasing each other up and down it, and launching themselves from one of the platforms half-way down. The tree barely registers the force, it is so stable and solid, no wobbling, teetering, nor toppling. Amazing, really. That said, it's big and heavy, so find a good space (ours is in between the dining room and living room where the cats have a 360deg view of the main part of the house and out the front and rear windows) and plan on leaving it there.
It Rocks, in a good way Feb 11, 2011

I had tried cat trees in the past with absolutely no success. We recently adopted a kitten, a hellion, who likes to bounce off walls, furniture, etc. When I started looking for a solution I came across this item. Expensive, yup, but well worth the $$. It's solid, when Leopold, the name came with him, starts ricocheting off the walls, he ends up in his very own condo. It surprised me that he took to right away, but as I said it's solid, stable, and well constructed, and comes fully assembled - a big +. This is a prime example of you get what you pay for, highly recommended.
