Yes it's expensive, but... Oct 26, 2007
By Kara L. Perkins You could be paying the same price and feeding well marketed rubbish. I researched for hours and visited the consumer reports website. This puppy food actually gives you what you're paying for and my finicky puppy loves it! Finally more integrity than marketing in a company.

Best puppy food we've tried Jul 10, 2007
By Linda J. Williams

Our dog has been quite finicky, and doesn't like new tastes very much. We tried this food, and he gobbled it down in about 30 seconds!!! He has better energy, and is filling out nicely now! We love this brand!

Very Best Puppy Food We've Tried Sep 29, 2009
By K. patton I have gone through the isles of all of the pet superstores and was truly disguisted by what is really in dog food. Too many meals, grain, animal by products. I finally decided on this Puppy Plate after trying several other dry foods my puppy wouldn't eat. If he did eat the others, I had to add wet food to it. He always also had loose stool with the others no matter how I phased the new food in. After finding Puppy Plate, I decided to give it to him straight and use the gravy option by adding hot water. What a nice creamy gravy! My puppy licked his bowl clean (the first time since we had had him). I waited for loose stool but, there was none. His stools on this food are actually less. That just showed me how much waste products his body wasn't using with the other foods. His stools are firm and small. I couldn't be any happier. I think I've found a dog food brand dog life.......especially with all the choices and variety. Thanks Merrick!

French Bulldog Puppy Loves It! Apr 28, 2010
By skkriz10 My French Bulldog came to me at 12 weeks on Purina Pro Plan. I wanted him off that junk and on to a high quality food. Merrick Puppy Plate is great, it contains chicken, turkey and duck as main ingredients along with oatmeal but this a good quality source of carbohydrates and B vitamins. He switched over with no problem at all to Merrick. No increased or irregular bowel movements. He gobbles it right up. I heard you can add water to make a nice gravy but my Frenchie like it better dry which works for me. His coat has improved, he's put the right amount of weight on according to my vet and hasn't had any allergy issues (Trust me, Frenchies are prone to allergies). I plan to switch him to the Merrick Turducken or Wilderness Blend since I hear those two are the best options of their "flavors" according to dog food analysis when he's all grown up!

Awesome Dec 21, 2010
By doglover I tried Eukenuba, royal canin, and a couple of other brands of dried puppy food and my 6 month old Siberian husky would not eat any of them unless I threw some boiled chicken, scrambled eggs, etc. in with it. I gave him the canned version of this food and I swear he asked me to marry him. Then I gave him the dried version today, and he gobbled it right up plain. He has never done that with any other dried food. I was so happy because he was getting skinny and in my opinion not filling out like he should be.The ingredients in here are all real food!Even though it costs more per bag, it pays to buy it because it fills the dog up faster because it is real solid food. The other brands are all fillers and they break down and the dog is hungry again, with this food, you are feeding the dog half the amount of food so the money thing breaks even: and its healthier.
