Great for thick long fur Feb 16, 2008
By Canis Diligo My dog is a cock-a-poo. His fur is very thick and woolly. This comb is the only thing that can make it through his fur without completely yanking and pulling.

coarse hair comb Jul 27, 2010
By sac i have a standard poodle and the breeder recommended this comb. She had dozens of combs, but said to get this one. It is made well and does a fine job, especially if there are any knots in my dog's hair. I believe in buying one high-quality item and not several lesser quality items. Do not hesitate, this comb is worth it.

We have a Standard Poodle. This comb is perfect for working through the hair and making him look like a beautiful ball of cotton :) I am really impressed by how nice the comb is to grip. It's really solid and sturdy. The comfort of the handle is really important, being that it takes a while to work your way through the masses of hair that a large, fluffy dog has! It's teeth aren't so long that it's hard to handle, nor are they so short that it is difficult to reach the base of the hair. And the teeth on the thing are thick and sturdy, so they won't be bending out of shape. I order a lot of things through Amazon, but never leave personal feedback. I am so impressed with this comb, that I had to leave a note. I am ordering another this week!

Handle makes the difference Nov 22, 2010
By dina weinberg We have used numerous dog combs and this one works the best because of the wooden handle. It is comfortable to hold and your hand doesn't fatigue especially when you have a large standard poodle like we do. Highly recommend!

Best dog comb Feb 05, 2012
By shstric I have a bouvier des flanders who would get matted if I didn't comb him on a regular basis. This comb is comfortable on the hands but very sturdy. A couple of the teeth have bent a little bit, but I was trying to get a mat out with it. The teeth reach all the way down to the skin so it is very effective.
