5Been using this for over 10 years.  Dec 22, 2010

This stuff is great. I don't consider it a treatment as in only use when your fish is infected. I use this more as a preventive. Meaning I use this all of the time with my fish. Granted I usually keep Cichlid fish that are more hardy than most fish. I feed my fish lots of live food so keeping my fish free from parasites is a must. Coppersafe is pretty safe on fish that aren't sensitive or delicate. Yes if your water supply is heavy on copper you do need to watch out. The below user who rated this at 2 stars may live in an area where his local water supply is polluted with copper. I usually use 75% of the recommended dose as to keep from overdosing. Testing your water for copper is recommend wether or not your using Copper Safe. Bottom line is I've been doing this for years and my father before I used Copper Safe before my birth and this is some damed good stuff.

5Mardel works  Jun 21, 2010

If used as directed, it does keep the nasties out of the fish tank. I have been using it for years, and it always helped. Read the instructions carefully before applying. It helps to estimate how much volume of the fish tank is taken up by gravel and ornaments, because if one does not consider that, it is easy to overdose. Adjust the quantity of CopperSafe, considering the volume that is NOT water.

This is product works well for curing flashing (itch that makes fish rub against everything in the tank) and other fish disease.

5Does What It Says!  Jan 13, 2012

Good product used it to treat saltwater ich.
FOLLOW instructions exactly and do not over dose. Get the correct Cu (Copper) test kit to ensure the proper levels. Research the use of copper BEFORE you use this!

2Know what you're doing before using this product  Oct 11, 2008

There are other ich and parasite treatments out there, if you are a fish-newb.

This is actually a pretty dangerous treatment for fish if you don't monitor your copper levels. The instructions say take out all your fish while you're treating it, and to check your copper levels before treatment. Your fish are really sensitive to this treatment, so expect dead fish if you put it in the water with the fish.

I used this on my tank, following the directions, and I treated it for 4 days (the life of ich is 4 days, so I treated it 4 just to make sure. Unfortunately, it didn't work. I bought some different Ich treatment from a fish store and it worked right away with no problems to the health of the fish.

I recommend using another treatment. If you google this one, you'll learn that it isn't the best---it's pretty archaic.
