I have been a pet owner 30+ years, and always have had dogs. I worked for Aspen-Booda products and was a representative for Vitarex Dog Food which is exclusive to Petco. I was educated about dog food and what is IN dog food. Very sobering. Since then I have tried and researched many products. This is definitely my favorite so far. The ingredients and processing are superior. My 2 dogs both love this. I particularly wanted to relieve allergy itching and this has made a big difference. I tried lots of products for allergies but when my Boston/Chihuahua got on this, wow, what a difference. I still had some old food left and decide to mix the 2 together to finish it off. Lo and behold, the itching came back! A coincidence? I don't think so, she's now back to Life's Abundance and we are all happy! The Pomeranian too! the ingredients are great, the food is heavier than normal bi-product filled dodg food, so the quantity i feed them is less...my dogs love this food, as i mixed it with their old dog food to get them adjusted to it, it was pretty well impossible because they would eat around their old dog food and go for life's abundance instead...great product!!!

Life's Abundance Dog Food Delivered to your door Oct 21, 2010

My Golden Retriever was moved over to Life's Abundance Dog Food over one year ago. I was interested in a dog food that was fresh, free of preservatives and would potentially reduce the amount of itching my dog was doing. I looked at a number of different foods, more than I ever thought I would do for "dog food". But we lost our previous dog many years too soon and I felt that even though the food was expensive in comparison, I wanted a better food for the dog we have now. There is nothing more important that you can do each day for your beloved pet than to care about what they are eating. Once the research was done, it is now so easy to make sure that he always has food available. I purchased a large plastic container with a circular closeable lid from Costco which keeps the food fresh up until a new bag is poured in. That is a huge help and eliminates any mess while keeping the food enjoyable for the dog.
One thing to keep in mind is that this is a 40 pound bag of food or about 1.70 a pound before tax and/or shipping. So when comparing price make sure you are comparing the same size bag. I thought that some other premium foods were cheaper but they were just lighter bags. Pay attention to that if you are counting your dollars. Also the other reviewer who said it is difficult to change the auto ship could not have been any more inaccurate. I have the dog food set up on auto ship at a specific amount of time. I get a new bag every 6 weeks or so. But for whatever reason, sometimes the food lasts a little longer and I'm not ready for a new 40 pound bag when I have plenty left in the container. A 2 minute phone call is all it takes and the customer service rep on the phone will change your ship date to whatever you want. I have done this numerous times without any problems. AND the people I speak to on the phone are always helpful, understand what I want to do, can locate my account and know what I am buying and they speak clear fluid ENGLISH. I don't get a crazy amount of email, and I suspect you can change your privacy settings reduce the amount of mail you get as is the same with most companies. You just have to spend two minutes and weed out what you don't want.
I also order the healthy dog treats. One for his teeth and one for low fat healthy treat for training. Why get great dog food then give your dog inferior treats. If you are committed to healthy food for your pet, then buy the treats too. Mine last a long time and if you get on autoship, they are cheaper. Because we were cutting back on expenses, I cancelled the wholesome hearts for now and kept the dental treats. I had no problems canceling one of the treats and I change the shipping on those back to around every 4-5 months. He only gets one or two treats a day so they last a while. I feel better knowing that my dog does not get any table scraps, (so he doesn't beg), doesn't get fed crappy people food that is not good for dogs and is getting a healthy daily dog food and treat every day.
Don't underestimate the benefit of not having to drag a 40 pound bag of dog food into the grocery cart, into the car and then into the house. The UPS guys brings it to my front door. My autoship invoice is 72.83 including tax and shipping. I get up to date emails on when the food is planned to ship so that I have ample time to hold off for a week or two if I'm not ready. Once it ships, I get shipping info and updates on when I can expect to receive it. This company has it all figured out and they make it really easy. Dad always said, you never will be sorry when you pay for the best. And for only a few bucks more to get the best dog food delivered to my door is worth every penny to me. If none of this matters to you, then you can find dog food for lots less money. If you love your pet and feel this small investment in his and your happiness is affordable, then look no further and read no more web pages. Your dog and you will love and appreciate the ease and quality of your purchase.

We have a rescued Collie mix about 12 yrs old and a 18 month old German Shepard. Once we researched what is in other dog foods we choose Life's Abundance. A few months later when they both got sick right after opening a new bag of food I called the company as an FYI. Even thou our vet was sure it was not the food. Dr. Jane called personally and we discussed our situation. In this day and age I was worried about contamination. She tested our own sample and called again to check on our dogs. She is a marvelous person that stands behind what she sells. The food was NOT at fault but how many other businesses out there would take the time to research and contact the consumer. I HIGHLY recommend this product.
