Ignore the size chart and go with extra large if you have anything bigger than a beagle. We ordered a second costume since the Large did not fit. It took a week for them to get back to us and tell us that it was damaged in the post. They were quick about giving us a refund though.

The costume is supper cute but the sizes actually run small. You'd also need to get the perfect fit in order for this costume to work right. I have a 50lb puppy and a 50lb boarder collie.. and both could not fit the costume as it is way too small. I squeezed the puppy into it but could not close the costume.. the legs were very tight on him and the hood was too short it didnt come close to reaching over his head. However the hood is very large and round which fits a person's head better then a dogs. My 3year old niece was with me while i was fitting the puppy and once I took it off him she decided to put it on... and the cosume does fits a 3year old perfectly! haha

I got my puppy (about 20lbs) a large costume because she wears a large in every Petco shirt. The sizing chart on the website was slightly vague, and I did measure from her head to her tail. When I recieved the costume (which came in about 2-3 days) it was so big on her, she was stepping on the feet, and the stomach was dragging on the ground. Now she is a small framed dog, but this was rediculous. Then in the actual package, they had a sizing chart with examples of dog breeds, and what size they would wear. Well, had I known that before, I would have gotten a Medium! And I couldn't send it back for a smaller size because it was right before Halloween. So I ended up saftey-pinning the costume to fit her better. It worked out okay, but you try holding a puppy still long enough to put safety pins all down her. The material itself was good, and I would have loved it...had it been in her size :(

Excellent and nice costume, good price, but the face of my dog was cover with the costume, so my dog doesn't see anything.
