Oh, but those tabs... Apr 12, 2009
By M. Coy My dog and I are generally the first to step in line with the "we heart kongs" crowd- she does just great with the red version of the original kong, but the stuff-a-ball is a little tricky. She's not a super aggressive chewer, really... but she is patient- and when it came to the point where she had a clump of peanutbuttery-kibble that she couldn't get to, she started working on the tabs. I didn't realize what she was up to until she'd gnawed one off, and was almost done with a second.
So, the ball itself has held up for her, but I took a hacksaw to the remaining tabs around the opening (if you have doubts about the strength of the rubber, try sawing one!).
The shape of the stuff-a-ball is more entertaining because my dog likes to kick it when it is stuffed with kibble alone- the original kong just spins in a circle. I absolutely will not be returning it, but I will also not be stocking up on these either.
My dog is a 1 yr, 50 pound aussie-shep/lab mix. I'd highly recommend these for smaller, or maybe older dogs needing some entertainment or who like to work for their food, but if you are kong shopping because your dog tends to chew through things, I'd stick with other kong products instead. This one just has too many smaller parts. Also, write to the company and suggest they get a black stuff-a-ball out soon.

My dog LOVES this ball! Nov 17, 2004
By M. R. A Bohm Give my dog Shana a soft toy and in 30 seconds it will be shredded, unrecognisable, and spread from one end of the house to the other. Give her a tennis ball, and 2 minutes later it is gone.
I bought Shana a Kong Stuff a Ball with the hopes that it would last her more than a day. 7 months later, the ball is still intact, and is her favorite toy!
When I fill the ball with the special peanut stuff that I bought with it, it keeps her quiet for hours while she tries to lick it out. I have started filling the ball with treats, which she enjoys getting out. We also use this ball to play fetch with, and it is so durable.
I can't believe it has lasted as long as it has. It still looks new, and has only a few minor teeth mark indents which is hard to believe! Although the ball seems expensive, it is worth it because it will last 100 times longer than anything else.
If you have a pet that loves to chew, the Kong Stuff a Ball is for you!!! (how poetic)

This is the Kong toy that keeps my dog busiest the longest Jun 12, 2008
By curl girl I have a 14 year-old 40 lb American Eskimo that can clean out the medium red Kong toys in no time flat--even if I freeze them and get creative with my stuffing. I switched to the medium black Kong toys for more aggressive chewers, and that slows her down a little. But this ball toy tops them all. I use the Kong Snaps, Stuff 'n' spray and Ziggies, and she'll usually wear out and curl up, satisfied, before it's empty. She's never really been interested in fetching, but this toy never fails to excite her and ignite her hunt instinct.

My picky eater loves this Feb 28, 2011
By Stayin Young I adopted a small 10 pound mixed dog. He wouldn't eat for days. I looked all over the internet for ideas on how to get him to eat. Lots of suggestions but I found that when I put his food in this ball he loved it!! I put all kinds of treats in this ball and he rolls it around and gets the contents to fall out. I cut up carrots and put in the ball and he rolls it around the floor until they fall out so he can eat them. I know it is an unconventional way to use the KONG ball....but he loves it!

doggie fun Nov 22, 2007
By A. Solomon My puppy liked this toy much better than the regular kong. It was real easy to stuff the inside with dry kibble that would slowly fall out as well as putting peanut butter inbetween the lil ridges. Keeps her busy for a long time, and she hasn't managed to destroy it.
