5A Carrot Love Story  Feb 13, 2009
By bouncy but thotful
Our 4 year old cat Geoffrey is in love with his carrot, although unbeknownst to him, he is currently in love with his third carrot. He received his first carrot at the young age of 1 and a half and was instantly taken with it. He enjoyed nuzzling it, chewing on the feathers, and generally batting it around. As he has grown older, his bond with the carrot has grown. He prefers to play with it by himself, batting it around with world cup soccer style moves. He carries it around in his mouth howling and singing. By 3 years old Geoffrey's "carrot time" developed into a nightly ritual. Just after going to bed we can look forward to a carrot concert sung through Geoffrey's teeth gripping the well-loved toy.

To the commenter who is skeptical about the excellent reviews given to this product, I can't speak for the other opinions listed here. However, I have no affiliation with the company that makes this toy. If my review seems to well-written to be trustworthy, I suppose there is nothing I can write that will convince you. Fortunately, your doubt will not damper the love between a cat and his carrot.

5Favorite toy  Aug 27, 2006
By G. Secrist
This is both of my cat's favorite toy, hands down. On top of being able to fill the pouch with fresh catnip whenever I so please, orange is supposedly all cat's favorite color as it is most visible to them. Why, I don't know, but both of my cats do always go for the orange version of any toy they are presented with.

BIG hit.

5The reviews were right!! =D  May 20, 2008

Our kitty (1.5 years old) loves this toy! We've gotten her probably 15 different toys in the last few months and she plays with this one the most, by far.

She prefers to play with it on her own (doesn't really enjoy chasing it) which is actually perfect, since we can't give her all the attention she desires. Sometime we'll look over and she's just rolling around with it, holing it in all four paws, rubbing her face in the orange fuzz and biting the feathers. Then she'll put it down and rub her whole body all over it. Clearly it's because of the catnip, but we've had other cat-nip toys of far less interest to her.

Quality: The problem with most cat toys seems to be the feather getting ripped out. We've had this one for a couple months now and ALL of the feathers are still intact, despite her constant tugging on them. The Velcro that holds the catnip in is solid, does not leak, and does not stick out to scratch her or anything.

Overall, it's her favorite solo toy, but when playing "chase" she's prefers the classic "feathers on a stick."

5My cats love it  Sep 25, 2010

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2AOMGUHI3HQIA My cat Willy loves this toy. He likes the feather top, but *really* loves the catnip inside :)
UPDATE: It's been a little over a year and it's STILL his favorite toy. I find it funny that my fat cat's favorite toy looks like a piece of food :P

5Love it!  Dec 06, 2009

The Kong carrot is by far my cats' favorite toy. It has enough weight that I can throw it across the room, but is also very soft. The feathers and catnip pouch are also a nice touch that helps keep their interest. He loves to fetch it and wrestle with it. My other cat likes to chew the feathers, so we've gone through a few now, but it gets played with so much it is worth it--and they last a lot longer if I monitor their play and keep it out of reach when I can't be there to watch.
