They need to improve the squeaker dog bone Jun 22, 2007
By C. Adkins We have 3 air kong products and 2 are with the squeakers, both the bone and ring squeakers were punctured by our dog within the first day of playing. Wonderful product and our dogs love them, but the manufacturer needs to improve upon the squeaker to where it cannot be punctured or pushed into the toy. Even after the squeaker has quit working, our dogs still love to play with the toys. So it is worth the cost.

Dog loves it Jul 26, 2011
By kamin9ea I have a standard Dachshund mix, he loves this toy, we play fetch with it all the time, only problem is he likes to rip the tennis covering off.

Poorly Made. Not Safe. Jul 17, 2011
By KBeille We bought this toy for our 8 year old, 73 pound, Airedale Terrier and he immediately loved it! Sadly, we had to take it from him in less than an hour because he started to rip the yellow fuzz off and expose the squeaker. It's too bad, because he really took to this toy straight away. I know it's not a "chew toy" but expected for it to last longer than 50 minutes.

At Least The Puppy Loves It Jul 02, 2011
By B.L. My puppy loves this toy. It's her favorite to play fetch with in the back yard and she's always excited to see me get it out.
Why only 3 stars then? We've had some serious durability problems with this one. The purple Kong seal on the middle seems to create a weak spot in the 'tennis ball' covering that allowed her to almost immediately start pulling the covering off. The fact that I don't let her play with this unsupervised has slowed her efforts to strip it off, but she's making definite progress. The seal looks nice, but I'd rather they just stamped their name on the toy and didn't create that edge to the fabric that she can go after.
Also, we have a small pool set up in the yard for my nephew and occasionally the toy lands in it. This should be fine, since the product description specifically mentions retrieving 'by sea.' The problem is that it seems as if water can get into the squeaker, which then stops working well. If the squeaker part is important to your dog, I'd recommend avoiding water just in case.
I'm not sorry we bought it, because she does love it a lot. I'm just disappointed that it didn't hold up as well as I had expected. I'd mainly recommend this to people whose dogs are a little more focused on the retrieving and a little less interested in figuring out how to shred every toy they encounter.

Weak Squeaker May 05, 2011
By D. Gilbert I purchased thinking that the squeaker was built into the middle of the toy. My 1 year old beagle was smarter than me and discovered it was set into one of the ends. He promptly tore off the yellow fuzz around only the squeaker part and once exposed, pulled the squeaker value out. Luckily I was monitoring his play time so I prevented him from eating it.
At least it seems resistant to puncturing and still works as a toy. I don't think my dog will have much interest in it anymore without the squeak however. Maybe he'll still enjoy tearing off the yellow fuzz (which may be the only thing he won't eat). His purpose in life is to locate and destroy the squeaker. This toy was no challenge for him.
