5Saves Fry Lives  Nov 15, 2007
By Elizabeth Norris
This is exactly what I needed to feed my White Cloud Mountain Minnow babies. I've got a large tank, the fry spread out and it was hard to get food small enough to the fry. First Bites is powder fine and spreads out instantaneously on the surface of the water. It very slowly sinks, and my White Cloud fry went for it immediately on the surface and as it sank. The adults also enjoy it, though there isn't enough to fill their stomachs. After using First Bites many more fry lived to adulthood that when I used crushed flakes or dried daphnia for the babies. This pack of food lasted me months of constant Minnow Spawning. Your fish shouldn't need more food than can fit on the very end of a toothpick, and most fish fry need to be fed 4 times a day.

5My frye love it  Mar 27, 2011
By peggysuelipsky
I have a litter of platys who go crazy over this food. Before I found out about this my surviving fry who I found while cleaning my tank (I didn't even know I had a pregnant fish), was fed flake food. He did a great job ripping it apart, but I wanted to give him something to really boost his growth. When his momma had her next litter, I ran right out and found this food at my local fish shop. I have never seen 17 little babies swim so fast to the top of the tank to munch away on this. This product is great. You only need a small amount because it does spread out, and it does sink slowly, for the little stinkers who don't want to stop playing with each other down on the gravel line. I'm a fan of the hikari products and this one is an essential if you're going to successfully raise fry.

5Molly fry like it too.  Apr 07, 2012
By lighten_up_already2 "lighten_up_already2"
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R259K7EG0FO4MG So about a week and a half ago I go to a pet store and say that I want three female mollies and make sure none are pregnant. Two mornings later and I fish twenty little mollies out of my main tank and put them in the smaller previously snail-only tank. I made an emergency late-night run back to the pet store and bought this product and behold, those little fish just eat it up.

This powdered fish food spreads out over the surface and some of it slowly sinks so that all the fry can get to it. I turn off my filter at feeding time so there is no current. This way the little fishies can have peace, quiet and a lot of time to seek out and find it on the surface.

I also have some helpful pond snails that begin swimming back and forth on the surface of the tank and eat any the mollies don't eat. A couple hours of this and it's all gone. I have a huge variety of colors among these fry, and thanks to this product I hopefully will get to see them grow up.

2msg fish food  May 11, 2012
By M. Eisma
this stuff has MSG in it, but fry do eat it. i dont mean to be a health freak for my fish but i'd rather find something else that doesn't damage my fish's health. and if you plan on eathing your fish, like my tilapia, then i surely do not want to use it.
