5my cats love it  Jul 24, 2007
By cat fancier
I bought one and then another a few months later. They are easy to assemble and clean. The "pot" finish is authentic looking but the plant and wiry moss are not at all lifelike and tedious to arrange the first time. But my cats (2)(ages 8 and 9) love them, especially the privacy. I have them on small washable area rugs, one on each floor. I had previously bought one of the covered litter boxes you tilt to clean, but it was ugly and did not work well for me as it was smallish and I like to give my cats a deeper bed of clumping litter than was practical for that model.

5Great product!  Jul 30, 2007
By Mindy Hoerter "Mindue"
This litter box not only looks great but works really well - we have our litter box in the living room area and you can't even tell it's a litter box, let alone smell it! It's big enough for our cat as well (18 pounder) and easy to clean.

4Better than it looks  Oct 23, 2007
By gr8ful
I own one and must say it looks surprisingly good for a thin plastic pot with a fake plant. The pot is realistic as long as you do not stoop to examine. The plant is not bad either and you can always use your own plant. It was difficult to arrange the leaves and the stem had to be "un bent", but with a little effort it does not look bad at all.

The pot makes a large litter pan which I really like. I put mine in a corner with the opening towards the wall and as long as you keep it cleaned out people do not seem to notice.

I bought this when the only alternatives where $500+ wood furniture that looked nicer than my bedroom set. So I ordered a second one for the upstairs hallway. This is the problem, it has been on order for several months now. I cannot believe they are still selling this when it is back-ordered for so long. So I recommend this, but I would buy it from the manufacturer unless you have time to wait.

3Cats love it --- but it warps!  Jun 04, 2008
By Michael A. Behr "mabehr"
I've had this thing for 6 months now, and it's really great. The cats really have taken to it, and it adds a nice amount of decor to the room.

However, a few thoughts. First, over time, it warps. It's hard to get the top to stay on the bottom part.

Second, caring for the litter is a PAIN. Filling the entire bottom part with litter works okay, but then when it's time to change the litter? It's a ridiculous task: the base is larger than large garbage bags, and there's no easy spout. Once I messed up and... let's just say it was a VERY scarring experience. Now, I have a small litter pan inside the thing, which the cats sometimes find a bit *too* small if you catch my drift. But it's still better than nothing.

Third, it's too small to hold these automatic litter boxes I've been hearing so much about.

If I had a time machine, I'd probably tell my past self that this is a good purchase, but I could get the same effect by putting a table over a standard litter box, and putting a REAL plant (or plants) on that table! Tadahhhh....

5A Festivus Miracle! A product has satisfied the notoriously impossible to please! (ME!)  Nov 29, 2011
By Lisa Lee Ananias
I thought I would absolutely hate this thing...just as I hate most things. YES, I'm a negative individual who is constantly disappointed. Blame my alcoholic mother I guess.

Anyway, this litter box was a nice surprise! You see, I have 6 cats in my crappy 2-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn. Yes, six. I can't stand people anymore so I rescue cats. Only the cats don't always appreciate it, and unless I sacrifice my first born or administer a ceremonial bloodletting to appease them, they go nuts and annoy me by loudly bickering with one another and ripping each others' fur off while I am trying to watch Real Housewives! Then I start to resent them, which sort of defeats the purpose of rescuing them in the first place. But I digress.

See, cats are fussy and hard to please (we have that in common) and they are very territorial (hmmm...) I personally think they could use a little xanax in their lives...BUT since I don't have enough xanax to share, I try to keep the gang happy. Providing the right atmosphere keeps them chilled out and prevents them from kicking the crap out of any foster cats or peeing on my dead mother's antique art deco sofa (which still smells like Marlboro Reds, Black Velvet, and lung cancer).

Anyway, I'm rambling here, but the point is that multiple cats require multiple litter boxes. And litter boxes are UGLY and smelly and messy. EW! But I do love the kitter kats, so I accommodate them. I have 3-4 litter boxes in my place, and technically, I should have 6 (according to even more expert cat ladies, I am a mere crotchety cat lady-in-training) So this is a way to keep the meow gang happy and not have an exposed plastic bin of steamy lumpy corn litter 3 feet from my left. And it actually doesn't look half-bad. Plus, I won't kill it slowly, the way I was murdering my dead grandmother's plants before I mercifully freecycled them to a couple of hipsters.

Also, seems to keep the litter in fairly well. Cats like it too! Covered litter boxes are usually a no-no for me, I mean, do YOU like to use port-a-potties? Right. This has a charcoal filter on the top, which is vented. So it minimizes the kitty stink both in the room AND for kitty.

Get this litter box. It made me hate the world slightly less and thus decreased the chances that I will become a serial killer. Good for everyone!
