Strong, Sturdy & Inexpensive Oct 10, 2007
By J. Harker Paid $37.99 w/free shipping from Amazon. Was concerned about quality and strength of product for this price, given I have a 75lb boxer that could lay waste to a "toy" barrier. Had to seperate him from the backseat where the new baby will ride. This is plenty strong & installed fairly easily. The only thing is the directions are pretty vague but the pic on the front of the box made sense of all the parts. Went together well and installed solidly in our Mitsubishi Montero SUV. Definitely worth the price and I cannot see how it could be made all that much better. If you can get past the assembly instructions the product is higher quality than the price tag would seem to convey. Very happy with it.

does the job Nov 04, 2011
By skidali i have a 07 jeep grand cherokee and looked around for a while for the right barrier. i needed something that had a small enough mesh so that my curious labradoodle puppy couldn't stick her nose through the mesh and get to the upholstery in the back seat. i also wanted something that evenly distributed the pressure along the top of the roof, instead of also having two support posts that left marks. this fits very well and does the job. it's easy to take in and out without having to remove the outside wings and stays in place.
i considered purchasing mesh nets that fit in the back because they are cleaner looking - but i was not thrilled about drilling for anchors, or adding a lot of velcro to the back. this unit does not rattle (and i just did a 13hr drive through just about everything).
i gave this 4/5 stars because of aesthetics - it is what it is - but i would certainly buy this again in the future given its functionality.
i used this with the K&H cargo liner that i also purchased on amazon (installed first - then I installed the barrier).

very good product Jun 18, 2010
By Rebecca L. Anderson I was nervous if the barrier would rattle, but hasn't at all. It was manageable to put together by myself, a bit easier with help. We got it to travel with cats in a Honda 1999 CRV and so far they haven't found an escape route yet. So far, a fantastic buy.
Great Dog Barrier Oct 29, 2011
By Nom du Plume My husband bought this thinking it would keep the cat in the back of our Santa Fe. Well, it doesn't. It is a well-made gate that would probably work fine with a medium-sized or larger dog, but cats find ways of squeezing through the smallest openings. If we ever get a dog this will work just fine.
Easy to install and works great! Jul 20, 2011
By E. Buerger After reading reviews on other, more conventional looking dog barriers, I wanted something that wasn't going to be able to be pushed out of the way by our three, large breed, very pushy dogs. I have been extremely happy with this barrier so far and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to purchase one. I have a sight hound that is very skinny and I was worried that he would get his head stuck in the bars of the normal, bar type barriers. Luckily someone came out with this mesh design and we do not have to worry about Dumdum getting his head stuck and hurting himself.
This barrier is super easy to install. It fits very nicely in my Santa Fe and I was able to install it being 7 months pregnant and in about 30 mins (this includes tweaking to get the sides adjusted right). I was a little worried about the top portion of this barrier and how it would connect with the roof of the car. It is covered in a foam and the tops of the pressure rods do not actually hit the roof making for a very snug/secure fit. I am not worried at all about the dogs getting past it or if any cargo item were to hit it in a crash, I am very confident that it would keep items in the back away from passengers.
