Product does the job... Jul 26, 2006
By Dwynnie For a bird feeder and over a 3.75 in deck railing that you don't want to screw into, this is the only product I have found that can do the job. There are some downsides (reason for the 3 *s:
- More expensive than most other deck clamps available.
- Don't hope to put anything other than a bird feeder on it. Plants are just too heavy for the clamp. It might help to use the optional screw to secure the pole, but if I wanted to screw something into my deck, I wouldn't have bought a clamp!
- Hook section attaches onto straight pole and can turn in a strong wind.
I don't know if I can recommend this product, but if you have no other options (like me), it might be your best bet.

Good Quality, Lasts for Years Sep 26, 2009
By K. Ellingson I've had one for over three years. It's just as good as new. It is pricey, but worth it in the long run. I'm getting another one because the raccoons broke my cheaper deck hanger for my second feeder. If assembled properly, it will NOT spin in the wind. I did put one screw into the deck railing to attach it more securely. I use it with the Brome 1015 Squirrel Buster Classic and the squirrels and raccoons have never been able to eat from that feeder.

I like this one. Looks nice and it will really hold onto the deck. Can be used for bird feeders, hanging plants. Just about everything and it is very sturdy.

not very secure without screwing into the deck Mar 14, 2010
By Philip Greenspun I would not trust this in a windy environment without an extra screw into the deck rail.

Works a Treat Jun 09, 2008
By TomD. Sturdy, easy to set-up. I put oil on the lower section after the squirrels figured out they could shimmy up & get to the feeder.
