dorothy's cardinal feeder May 31, 2008
By Eunice Henderson This is the best feeder of the many I have used. The large clear dome keeps the seed dry and allows protection for the birds as well as good visibility for watching them come to the feeder.Well worth the cost for longtime use and it has a lifetime guarantee.

I love these feeders! May 15, 2010
By Gigi A. Along with several other bird feeders, I already had one small dome feeder, which I had purchased locally. Because of a lot of seed falling to the ground from the regular feeders, I had pigeons come to dine in my yard and sit on the roof of my house. I do not dislike pigeons, but I hate the mess they make. I found this wonderful feeder on Amazon and ordered two. I switched to these feeders exclusively and am so pleased. They are wonderful, a great size and hold quite a bit of birdseed. I can adjust the dome to keep unwanted birds out. I recommend this feeder, it is the best!
The pigeons have given up and are flying elsewhere. The little sparrows that used to feed on the ground fly up to the feeders. All is well with our little singing friends.

Wasted Money Dec 07, 2010
By DolphinFan1995 I have half a mind to call Droll Yankee and tell them that this feeder is JUNK. The main reason I bought this feeder was that it was supposed to keep out larger birds and protect the seed from the weather and it failed in both cases. Note that this feeder is not cheap either. I adjusted the hight of the dome to keep out the bluejays but there is no way to keep them out unless you set the dome an inch above the tray which would keep every other bird out as well. FAILED I thought the seed would remain dry with the dome overhead but I was wrong. The problem is the dome does not extend out past the tray. Even when I set the dome down to about 4 inches from the tray (which is low) I woke up the next day and the tray was completly full of snow and the seed ruined. FAILED Another problem is when I went to disassemble the feeder (because now it is useless) the nut on the bottom of the threading fell out because the plastic which held it in fell apart. It still will work but now I would have to hold onto the nut to screw the pole in. FAILED I hope this review will help people in deciding if they want it or not. Do not waste your money like I did because now its in the garage less than a month after I got it.
Adjusts to feed smaller birds. May 27, 2012
By Terry N Jones I've had a problem with doves consuming the expensive seed that I put out for cardinals. This feeder adjusts so that larger birds cannot fit between the edge of the dome and the platform of the feeder. The dome top also is difficult for birds to land on which means that the feeder top stays clean. Cardinals can easily perch on the edge of the feeder and seem to prefer this feeder over other feeders that I also use. In short, the feeder works like I hoped that it would and I'm entirely satisfied with it.
SUPER BIRDFEEDER Feb 03, 2012
By LisaATL Love the ease of cleaning and the fact that it has little holes so water drains out. Also, the cover is so generous that it keeps the seed dry unless there is a windblown rain. I have two filled with black oil sunflower seeds and have been rewarded with copious amounts of Goldfinch as well as Cardinals.
