dangerous Sep 06, 2010 Awhile back I purchased three large Coolaroo steel framed pet beds. They each held several of my dogs comfortably.
I used them for several months, until my shih tzu Glory B got her head caught in the wedge shaped corner of the frame overnight. She died as a result.I will never again use one of these beds.If you have samller dogs stay away from these.Larger breeds might be ok,but not the smaller ones.
Great for hot climates Sep 06, 2010 Our German Shepherd, Boxer and Dingo took immediately to these beds - they're a must for getting the dogs off the hot patio in AZ summer. Sturdy and easy to clean.
My dogs love it! Sep 06, 2010 I got the large bed for my Border/Aussie, and the smaller poodle and carin terrier love it also. The dogs take turns using it so I'm ordering a medium bed for the smaller dogs. The smaller dogs currently share the bed, which is on the patio. It's great to keep the dogs elevated so that air can flow underneath; it's light-weight, and cost effective. The bed is great for Summer use.
Coolaroo Steel-framed Pet Bed Sep 05, 2010 Very good. Easy to assemble and the BIGGIE is that our dog actually uses it! We keep this one on our deck in the shade. The cover is tough and has a definite texture that she loves to rub and roll against.
Just not for Bob Sep 05, 2010 The Coolaroo bed is just as described. I think it's great. Alas, our dog, Bob, doesn't care for it. Bob weighs about 65 pounds, a shepherd mix, and the bed is plenty large for him. We live in south Florida and he is an indoor dog. He has several beds, including ours, and frequently sleeps on the tile floor under a ceiling fan. I'm sure that's nice and cool. So I thought he'd enjoy the Coolaroo. But he doesn't use it. I don't think it is due to any problem or flaw with the product. In fact, I think most dogs would love it. But Bob is Bob. He knows what he likes and at age 11 I don't think he is about to change his habits. So I give it a thumbs up and Bob's not talking. I have seen similar beds in animal shelters and the dogs seem to love them. The Coolaroo is very reasonably priced. The "industrial model" used in shelters is considerably more expensive, but for home use I think the Coolaroo is perfect. Do they make it my size; I'd sleep on it.
