The most helpful c/t book yet! May 27, 2003
I am a book junkie. If it's about clicker training, I have it. This is the best of the bunch. Easy to read. Cross-referenced. Indexed -- thank God. (Finally, an indexed clicker training book!) Complete answers to every question I ever had. Where was this book six years ago when I first learned to clicker train? Save yourself a lot of fumbling -- whether you're new or experienced, get this book if you have any interest in clicker training.

Great resource! May 19, 2003
Love this book. I've clicker trained for several years. This book covers beginner through advanced material and helped me improve my training skills. It seems like all the other clicker books out there are strictly for beginners. This is the only one I've found that helped me take it to the next level. It's not a book I read just once -- I keep it with my dog stuff and refer to it whenever a question occurs to me.

A clicker training bible! May 18, 2003
By Sara I "met" Melissa Alexander online, and I've been impressed with her ever since. This book is wonderful, and I highly recommend it. It's not step-by-step instructions, but it's the best FAQ I could imagine. It answered every question I had before I knew I had it! My favorite thing is the cross-referencing. The answers I want are so easy to find!

Solid Training, Solid Approach, Lasting Results Jun 08, 2006
By Yellow This is a top notch book for everyone learning clicker training as well as a reference for those who have been training for a long time. The methods described in this book have been scientifically proven for decades both in laboratory research and in the "real world". The author of the foreword, Bob Bailey, has been using these techniques since the 1950s with amazing success. You can't force a dolphin to go out on 12 hour military missions in the open ocean and come back at the end of the day. You can teach that kind of behavior with clicker training. And people do it all the time.
If you make it worthwhile and painless for an animal (including human!) to learn, he remembers. You can train animals trainers from other techniques consider untrainable with the methods in this book. Even the common house cat becomes an EAGER learner with clicker training. (Who is front and center when I call my animals to train? THE CAT!)
There is no need to punish if you know how to make performing desirable behavior worthwhile- and this book teaches how to do that.

Clicker training basics at it's best Jul 28, 2005
By Wolf I love this book and have given away 2 copies already. It's a fun book to use and explains easily how to train your dog while both of you are having fun and playing games.
