generally does the job of keeping squirrels from eating the seed, but the perches are a little flimsy & the weight of a determined squirrel can bend them down.

This is my second Squirrel Buster Feeder & it is great. so far the squirrels have not had any success getting into it & believe me, they tried. we have had our first one for 10 years & it looks brand new. I would certainly recommend these feeders.

The Squirrel Buster does what it says, defeats those pesky squirrels out to eat your bird seed. The first week we had it up, we watched through our window as one or more squirrels actually climbed up the thin (Shepherd's hook) pole that our feeder was hanging from, only to be defeated by the "Buster." The birds love it and find it easy to feed from. We've sometimes have all four feeder openings being used at a time. Our only complaint is that the bird seed does fall out through the feeder holes if either a big bird or an overactive squirrel swings on it. But not sure what could be done about that! Oh, and the cost is a bit much for a simple bird feeder. Under $25 would be a better price.

I recently purchased this item for my Mom. The squirrels just would not stay off her other feeder. Since this one has been hanging, she has not seen a squirrel on it. However, once in a while one has been spotted looking up at it trying to figure out a way to outsmart the thing. Keep trying!. When new out of the box, the mechanism worked a little stiff. But after a couple days, it loosened right up and now works smooth as butter. I highly recommend it, especially for the price. Throw in the free shipping from Amazon, and you got a deal that can't be beat. And the best part - Mom is very happy!!

2Broke After Seven Months  Jul 11, 2010
Worked great until last night. Now the outside cage is in the down position preventing the birds from feeding. Something broke somewhere so there's no spring action keeping the outside cage in the up position.
