5Sturdy carrier for my bunny  Dec 01, 2010
By AZMish
I have a 4.5 pound bunny, and I bought this to help him travel from Arizona to Oregon in our moving truck. It provided enough room for him to move, and I liked the sliding window on top. I could reach in to pet him or give him some munchies from the little treat-holder on top. It was sturdy, the strap was strong, and I felt that it closed securely. Its now his regular carrier for any outside trips :)

5Great Carrier  Nov 21, 2009

I love this carrier. I use it for my guinea pigs. I hate front loader carriers, so this one with the top loading feature is a life saver. It is easy to open and close securely. I Have not used the straps yet with any animals in it so I cannot rate that. But overall, I'm very happy and am ordering more very soon and donating my old front loaders to a rescue.

2How the hell do you put that plastic thingy on  Jul 18, 2009
By Lydia Colon
I purchased this crate for a ferret. I like the fact that it is made of sturdy plastic, which is great because my ferret enjoys ripping apart the fabric ones ( which is dangerous because he can escape). It locks securely and has a convenient over the shoulder strap. The tiny compartment at the top is big enough for a small Ziploc bag of food. The food/water dish is sturdy, but I wish there were 2 included. The only downfall is that terribly ill fitting plastic part at the top. I never found out how to put it correctly. Even when it seemed to fit, something was off. There was too much space left (which is dangerous, again because he can escape) ,so i ended up taping it up on an emergency vet visit. It has remained unattractively taped up. I am currently looking for another travel crate. Save yourself the headache.

4Great little carrier.  Jan 12, 2009
By Autumn N. Empire
I bought this for a pet rat, who drove x-country with me from ME to OR. The carrier is firm plastic, and comes with an attachable food dish. I think the assembly was pretty intuitive and I managed it easily, but I do recall the sliding clear plastic bit at the top was a pain (as noted by other reviewers). After I got that part in, though, I found I really liked having a "quick access" point, a place to stick my hand in and give a treat or reassuring pat. There is some sort of odd, useless cubby at the top - I guess it's for treats, but it held no magic for me. The top-loading feature is invaluable for loading little guys, who just seem to want to squiggle right back out of a front-load crate. The design provided great airflow, but openings are high enough on the sides that my guy felt secure below. I also reasoned that would prevent him from getting easy access to my shirt or anything else he might want to pull in and nibble, but that was never really an issue anyway. The size was perfect - small enough to be homey, large enough for him to stretch out and up until we stopped for a runabout or photo op. Carrying strap was moderately handy, but it's still kind of cumbersome and bangs on one's hip (hardly a smooth ride, and I felt guilty). The best feature is a raised floorboard. The holes in the grate are tiny, so I never worried about him getting stuck or anything. Even though I am sure aspen shavings absorbed most liquids, I liked the grate. This carrier was a great purchase, but it's not airline approved. I had to purchase another large front-loading crate with a metal door to satisfy airline requirements (requirements that are unsuitable for little creatures like single rats). It's something to consider if you travel, but I would still have bought this one for his comfort.

4Could be better  Nov 02, 2008

The pet carrier did not come fully assembled and there was no written instructions given. It took abit of IQ to figure out how to fit the clear window on; otherwise it was simple to assemble.
The blue top compartment is very difficult to open. The carrier comes with a small food container that can be attached on the inside but it does not come with a water bottle.
The base is well designed with a plastic floorboard that allows pee flow under the floorboard.
