5Coralife F/W T-5 fixture with the right bulbs for plants  Jun 28, 2009
By Boet
I use these fixtures for both my planted aquariums that needed enough moderate light for growing my plants. The Coralife T-5 fixtures use less energy and "heat" so do not have loud fans as many fixtures do. In addition you can double these fixtures up as they are slim. It's easy to find this particular fixture elsewhere but they usually come with a 18W 10,000k bulb and a 18W blue actinic bulb which is not optimal for growing live plants. (the actinic bulbs are good for growing corals in saltwater) This particular fixture comes with the 10,000k and a 6700k bulbs and is a perfect combo of bulb types for plants.

2I really want one of these that works dependably.  Mar 26, 2012
By Stephanie W. Lowman
First of all, when this light works, it's fantastic. It's the perfect length for my 37 tall. It's bright and my plants just love it. I really want one that works ALL the time. That's why I'm currently returning the second one that Amazon has sent me. Both of them have worked for two days, then got very flakey about turning on (flickering, and not starting up). I really hope the third time is a charm and the next one works well.

I have two fixtures of the same brand in the 24" length on my 55 gallon aquarium. I've NEVER had a problem with them, so it seems like it's an issue particular to the 30" model. If the next one works like it should, I'll update my rating. Keeping my fingers crossed.

1STAY AWAY FROM THIS SIZE  May 02, 2012
By Aqurium Addict
The Corallife 30' T5NO has problem with the ballast, and will burn out bulbs within the first month of use. if you google search "plantedtank Coralife t5no 30" you can read about our exprience with these fixtures.

personally i have gone through two fixtures, and 6 bulbs in two months.

stay away from this product in the 30' NO (normal output) fixture as it is the only fixture with this issue.

3One bulb dead in less than 2 months  Mar 31, 2012
By Eric G.
I was happy with this fixture. It works well on my 29 gallon 30" tank. However, less than 2 months after purchase, one bulb is out and the other one is very dark on one end. I went to Petsmart and picked up 2 new bulbs (for almost the cost of this fixture). And now it's working well again. Hopefully this was a fluke with the bulbs that came with the fixture.

3Bright and compact however fragile.  Mar 22, 2012
By amateur photographer
I ended up returning mine, the light was bright enough for a 20g Long tank however the plastic is very flimsy and was already cracked on one end. Although it probably did not effect function, I wanted something more sturdy.
