5Dangit it really works!  Mar 21, 2008
By B. Rike
I really didn't want this to work so I could get brand new carpet under the manufacturers warranty. The first time I used it I didn't think it worked...I got it off ebay and the sprayer was a joke so I had to get a new bottle. I thought this left grease looking stains on the carpet and I called the Co. Mister Max and they said that's never happen in all the years they've been making this. So, I got a really good spray bottle and mixed it with a little water. Sprayed it on all the spots and in the morning I had my husband walk in the room (which he is normally bowled over with the cat pee smell and fusses about it) and I asked "well, does it smell?" and he said wow no it doesn't, laid on the floor and said " what did you do?!?!"

I spent so much on feliway diffusers and I think that's a waste of money for my cats and I will have to keep up with the comfort zone spray (that's the only thing that works) and the anti icky poo because it totally takes away the smell! Use a black light when you're doing the treatment.

5Miracle Cleaner  Oct 06, 2008
By Christopher Conklin
If you have pets, then you HAVE to get this stuff. The name sounds stupid but it works wonders. Cats in particular will continue to pee or mark areas where they have gone before. Even when we cannot smell the urine, they can and they will pee there again. This stuff is an enzymic cleaner, so it completely eliminates the smell. Originally we were using white vinegar (a natural and pet safe way to disinfect and clean.. and a quarter of the price of regular cleaning solutions). However, the vinegar worked only worked so well. Cats have a much stronger sense of smell and would return to pee on the same spot. Now that we have the anti icky poo (and we use Feliway afterwards to prevent future incidents) things have been so much better.
Also, as a side note, I found this stuff works great with my sparring gear as well. When training the gear gets really nasty from all the sweating and I have found that even putting it through the washing machine didn't fully eliminate the smell. Stinky sparring gear is not only nasty to wear, but it's not cool for your training partners either. Well, one day I figured I'd try the anti icky poo on my gear and it worked better than anything else I've tried in the past. They sell all sorts of expensive cleaners specifically for sparring gear and they don't work half as well (I won't name which ones I've tried). It even gets the smell of smoke out of your clothes too. Definitely worth having a bottle in the house at all times.

5This product is fantastic!!!  Sep 13, 2009
By Lynn
A short summary of our problem cat's life....We have the sweetest, friendliest cat ever. He's part of a multi-cat household. His problems, and ours, began when he was 4 yrs. old. He began showing dominance by chasing our 14 yr old cat until she'd hide from him & he also started marking his territory in our home!! If you're wondering, yes, he was neutered. He's lucky, very lucky, that we are so kind-hearted. Instead of doing away with him, he's been banished to our closed-in porch.

Through the years, I tried a couple different enzyme products, but got frustrated with them because I'd have to mix just the right amount of enzyme with just the right amount of warm water, pour on the urine spot, cover with a damp cloth and make sure the urine spot remained wet for a required amount of time. I grew tired of that, and started using white vinegar, but it didn't get all the smell out. Now, 13 years later, I read an article about Anti-Icky-Poo, and decided to go for it. The deciding factor was that it doesn't need to be kept wet. Off and on, in about 6 weeks time, I managed to use a quart of it on some urine spots on our closed in porch. Imagine my surprise when that nasty smell was finally gone from the porch!!! This stuff works! I recently ordered the gallon size & haven't had to use much because I'm also using Farnam Comfort Zone Feliway Electric Diffuser with 48-Milliliters Imitation Cat Pheromone. My vet sold me some Feliway (75mL) Spray several years ago. I used it a few times but stopped because I wasn't comfortable spraying my furniture and walls with it, & you need to spray often. So, that's when Raskal was banished to our closed-in porch.

Using Anti-Icky-Poo and Comfort Zone Feliway Diffuser has almost eliminated our problem...our home is intact and finally our porch doesn't stink. Poor, sweet Raskal is still banished to our porch, which we've made very comfy for him through the years. He even has his own cat house with an incandescent bulb we use to heat it in cold weather. We just can't bring ourselves to trust him in our home any more. Maybe someday I'll be brave, plug in a Feliway diffuser, and give him another chance; after all, I can use Anti-Icky-Poo to clean up his mess. *but I really don't want to be cleaning up that kind of mess in our home*

*After purchasing Anti-Icky-Poo, I found out that if you have a stubborn or old urine spot, that Anti-Icky-Poo will also work if it's kept wet. So just cover it with plastic, wax paper or tinfoil for a while. You'll use less A-I-P & have quicker results. A.I.P. can also be diluted with up to 3 parts water.

Taken from the label: " Engineered to eradicate urine, it will digest any malodorous decay including liquid or dried fluids from vomit, feces, rotten vegetables, fish, milk, ... skunk musk & more, even smoke." "Don't use directly on pets."

A.I.P. has a pleasant smell that I can't quite describe for you. The smell doesn't linger nor does it leave a scent on the sprayed object.

4Effective for small areas  Nov 01, 2009
By Calla Lilly
We had a huge area where our female cat had urinated on our carpet, an extremely strong odor as it turned out she had a bladder infection. Then she pee-d, of course, in the same area a few times more and in surrounding areas. We found that this product would work in the smaller areas but never really worked on the original area. It does help, if you have a thick carpet, to inject the product into the pad. You can purchase the syringe separately or possibly ask your vet for a needle and large syringe (at least 30cc). The key for using it is as follows (I got this from the tech at the company): 1. Best thing you can do is catch the urine right away, blot with paper towel or rag, don't rub it in. You can wash with soap and water but do NOT use carpet cleaner. 2. If you did not catch it right away and it's been sitting for awhile, probably best to go ahead and inject the carpet, injecting about 6 inches apart into the pad. 3. Next step is spray the whole area moderately, then you are supposed to press into the carpet with your feet. Since I did not want this all over my feet, I put on old socks to press it in, then threw the socks away. 4. Wait two days, then repeat the whole process again. It's important to remember that you may not have the full effect of this product for several days so don't give up. Also, I found that the bad smelling stuff would float to the surface, so blotting it after several hours seemed to help. We also put fans on the area to help dry it, because the other thing to worry about is mildew from all the wetness.
Having said all this, never did get the odor completely out of the original spot. What I added to this whole process after completing the treatment with AIP was to saturate all the areas with hydrogen peroxide, let it soak in for four hours, blotted up with old towels. When it was dry, poured baking soda all over the areas and let sit for a few days, then vacuumed. AFTER ALL THIS: finally, you cannot smell cat pee when you walk in that room. I really think it was a combination of all these steps, but in small areas I think the AIP does work just fine. The tech was very helpful and patient also, if you want to call the company. They will refund your money if you are not happy with the product. Another key point is that it's safe to use around pets and people.
