Best Heated Birdbath Jan 06, 2009

I've had several heated birdbaths that lasted only one winter season. I am on my third season with this one. It is easy to assemble and set up. It's easy to empty and clean. The birds use it all winter long.

BeeBuzz Nov 24, 2010
By beebuzz I purchased one of these bird baths a few years ago because I was looking for something with a heater for winter. I've had mine for two years now and love it. I just bought another one for my parents for Christmas. Granted, it is not a thing of beauty exactly, but it's easy to clean and maintain, it's got a reasonably stable base, the birds perch easily on the lip (not to thick or rounded for their feet to perch on), and it offers a depth that they like when they hop in for a bath. The heater in mine is still going strong and last night we had 16 degree temps and it didn't ice up at all. The birds are so appreciative of the unfrozen water source in the winter and it offers a lot of fun entertainment to watch them come drink and on a sunny day in the winter, a whole gaggle of birds come in for their bath! I remove the heater in the summer and store it until the next winter. If you enjoy bird watching and want to give them a good water source they'll thank you for, you won't be disappointed with this product! Note: I use a bit of black electrical tape to tack the heater cord underneath to the pole base--it keeps the water off the cord when you're cleaning or refilling it or when it's raining/snowing.

"My" birds love it May 07, 2010
By ritewinger I feed those silly birds that don't migrate to warmer climes, and now give them water, too. When it gets cold in NH, water in liquid form is hard for the birdies to locate. Not any more. Easy to clean, and in summer just remove heating element and splish, splash....po-tweet, po-tweet....

Works Great Jan 16, 2012
By TervFan Bought this to furnish bathing/drinking water to feeder visitors. I have the power connection protected with a Farm Innovators Cord Connect zip-tied to the post. Water has stayed ice-free, in outdoor temperatures down to 4 degrees Fahrenheit (seasonal low). Stand design makes dumping the old water for refreshing easier. On the other hand, squirrels very occasionally tip the stand when jumping on. Bath is on patio, so couldn't use furnished anchors to protect against this. Plan to follow manufacturers advice to place some sandbags (old socks) on the stand's feet.

Gave this to my parents for Christmas two years ago. They love it. They say the birds look very happy in it. Easy to install. Parents are elderly (hope they don't see this) and they aren't intimidated by it at all.
