5Fabulous conditioning treat for budgie  Aug 10, 2011
By Jancal
I'm so happy that Amazon is now selling this product, one of 8 in 1's treat variety seeds for my parakeet. The moulting seed is a great product when alternated every third day with the other two, tropical fruit/seed and grains/greens, just a teaspoon mixed in your bird's regular seed, along with an alternate drop of wheat germ oil or skin plumage oil, will keep your bird in optimum condition and living the longest possible life; our first parakeet lived 12 years on this combo. The moulting seed has a nice odor, smells like licorice! Re birdie's feather loss, it is seasonal and won't last forever, this food helps his coat with needed oils and nutrients.

5On behalf of Alex and Desi  Mar 23, 2008
By Sheila Nichelson
My birds, Alex and Desi, love the heck out of Oat & Groats. They can't get enough of it. I wish they sell this stuff by the bulk, cause they eat it up so quickly.

4Conditioning Supplement  Mar 08, 2011

This was not exactly the product I ordered. I wanted Hartz, I got eCOTRITION. I have not had it long enough to really judge, but Rigby does not seem to mind the difference. It also came in a bag, I prefer the Hartz canister. Had I know I would have saved my canister. Oh well.

5Pretty Good  Nov 10, 2010

I had previously bought this product at Petco for roughly 4 dollars( not including tax) for my two parakeets. They didn't seem to like it much when I first put some with their food but they soon got used to it.

The strangest part was when this product arrived, I expected it to be in this little can with a lid, as shown in the current picture. Instead, I got this sort of resealable bag/pouch. It's still the same product but they changed their look/name. One the corner of the pouch, they show a picture of what their package used to look like (the can with a lid) and so I was reassured that I got the right item sent to me. Overall, the new packaging is more attractive so I have nothing bad to say about it.

Now about my parakeets...As I mentioned before, they got used to eating it after a while. Whenever I gave this to them, they would "dig" through the food to get the parts they wanted. Soon afterwards, they gave it up and starting eating everything. They got more energetic and starting singing a bit more which showed me I got the right thing.

Lastly, when using this product, don't put a lot in their food. They tell you on the package to put a certain amount in ADDITION to their normal food. You can't use this as food alone. It's more like vitamins and if you give them too much, they'll probably get sick or worse.
