Might be good for Cats Mar 15, 2012
By Paul Virtue
"GrtGrace"
Positive it was shipped quickly.
Other reviewers have mentioned using this as a cat or dog toy and that might be one way to make use of this, because
it is not an effective horse training tools. We do not use a whip to touch the horse but need something to keep the horses attention. This was ineffective and disappointing. Paid $7 more and got just what we wanted but had to wait for shipping that took 2 full weeks.
Dressage Tapper Sep 16, 2008
By K. Newell I use this tapper to get my horse's attention at the shoulder or flank. The length is perfect. The bright color makes it easy to find in the arena sand. It's not a rigid whip though, if that's what you need.

horse whip as a cat toy! Jul 07, 2007

this was just what i needed at a good price. we have horses but our cats love to play with the end of the whip as well. if you whip it back and forth quickly it makes a noise than makes the cats chirp. move it around between boxes or furniture and they think there is a mouse or something in there to go after. our horses are well trained and don't need a whip but we needed extras here so we can all play with the cats.

Works great, very durable as a dog toy!! Jan 20, 2011
By Dawn & Ron (aka FurryReaders)
"FurryReaders"
Edited Feb. 2012 - We purchased two of these whips in the hopes of being able to make a toy, similar to cat toys, that would stand up to our now 2 year old Border Collie mix rescues, Nougat and Cooper. Something that they could chase and play, using their natural instincts and as a bonus helped wear out their high energy levels. We have had these for these for well over a year now, they are very durable, being able to handle 100 pound dogs (they share when they go to the dog park) and have exceeded our expectations. We tied on a no stuffing type dog toy such as Ethical Pet Plush Skinneeez Squirrel 24-Inch Dog Toywith a flexible cord but not too stretchy. These skinny toys have worked the best with the way they move and dance on the end of the cord.
We move the handle(whip) back and forth, starting off slow, watch the dogs eyes and body language as they lock on to the toy and then let the fun begin. You can either stand in one place and spin the whip around you or trail it behind you, play some tug of war with it, the wrapped handle of the whip doesn't cut or burn your hand. We also used this in our 'drop it' training, make sure your dog is already trained to relinquish food or inanimate objects before hand, using this to reinforce that training. This is also great if you have or know someone with mobility issues. We have taken this over to a friend, to give him a way to play and interact without over exerting himself. He can sit or stand in one place, play tug with them, even in the house and they all enjoy it so much. And best of all no one is missing out, the dogs get to run and play and he gets to join in and contribute. If you really want to have a blast take these to a dog park and watch the different dogs join in. It is wonderful for kids, too! It keeps their hands and bodies at a safe distance from the dogs, and the kids love playing and being the leader of the pack. The best part is the way you get to bond with your dog.
Wonderful and exciting exercise for your dog, a fantastic way to bond with your canine family member(s), we dare you not to smile and laugh when you see your dog in action!

Shipping? Dec 17, 2008
By Faye Larkin I've ordered from this company before and had no problems with them. However, I ordered this item on December 5th, and was supposed to receive it no later than the 16th. Well, today is the 17th, and after 2 emails with no response, I called them. They said the order was out on the dock waiting to be shipped out. I canceled the order as I ordered it early because I *needed* it be a certain day (TODAY!).
